Radiator: CSF or Mishimoto?

I'm currently on my third CSF radiator and this one is the updated version. It's been installed now for 3 years and started leaking about a month ago. I'm officially giving up trying to have an aftermarket radiator in the Z and will return it to stock very soon. I will say, when I notified CSF of my second radiator's failure they did replace it for free, as it was not the updated version. As much as it would be awesome to replace this one, I am just ready to not pay for a radiator install anymore.

I'm totally with you. If CSF had contacted me and offered a new revised one, I may have bitten. However, they were nowhere to be seen even after contacting them. So BAD CS and BAD PRODUCT = suck.

I totally feel you on having to replace it over and over again. That's why I said "revised" product. The down time and uncertainty of driving a non reliable car is not worth it.

Here is the another thing to consider as some unfortunate folks found out. Unless you water temperature spikes while you are losing water you will never see a change in water temperature when the tank has gone dry....because the temp gauge is reading the ambient temperature and without warning your engine goes boom!

One of the reasons I installed an aftermarket water temp gauge. The sensor is in the upper radiator hose.

Me too but boy was it a ********** to get that silicone hose on with the fitting in it.

This is not just for the 370z, it is for many other cars also. The 300zxtt and 300zx from 1990 to 1996 were the same way.

any reason you guys don't feel like removing the thermostat housing, drill and tap, place sensor there?

would look so much cleaner, not create more failure points and achieve the same result?

I’d rather have a purpose made piece than drilling a cast piece. I’m also a function over appearance guy.

Plus there is no good place to drill and tap on the housing. Not enough room and it's too thin for threads.
