Hey guy, looking at getting a lightweight crank pulley, not under driven. Anything specific I should be looking out for? Whats your opinion on them? Thanks for the feedback!

Unless it is a track/strip car, stick with a harmonic balancer.

It's more than a pulley. Harmonic balancer

Some like them, some won't go near them. I won't get one. Seen too many issues with using them.

I wouldn't recommend a lightweight crank pulley in place of the OEM harmonic balancer/damper.
Even though the engines are internally balanced, that still doesn't negate the effects of when the cylinders fire and cause harmonics and vibrations through the crankshaft at different RPMS/loads, kind of like a whipping motion. The damper/harmonic balancer reduces (and possibly eliminates) these harmonics/frequencies. You may not experience any detrimental problems immediately with a lightweight crank pulley, but overtime it could create an issue. There is a reason why Nissan and other manufactures add harmonic balancers vs lightweight pulleys. They want longevity/reliability vs the possibly 5hp you may get. Now Fluidamper or ATI Racing dampers would be a better alternative imo. Sometimes going with ''don't fix it unless it breaks'' is the best route. Or you can Fix it until it breaks lol.

You want to gain performance, try weight reduction or reducing rotational mass. (Not with crank pulleys or what have you).
This is just me, but if you have a twin turbo setup or other forced induction, there is no reason to use a lightweight crank pulley (unless its supplied by the Supercharger kit in this instance). I mean really... a lot of modifications that one does to a vehicle, do you really feel a seat of the pants difference or is it your brain trying to justify you spending $500 or more lol.

Thanks for all the input everyone! I think I'm going to stay away from a light weight pulley, for now at least. My Z isn't my DD but it's not a track car either. I do drive it quite a bit and don't want to sacrifice reliability/longevity of the car.
