I didnt read through the whole thread, but sounds to me like you hit limp mode. If after 15 minutes it was just under 260, then that sounds like it to me. Doesnt it start at 260 and then get reduced more at 280?

Anyway, the highest ive gotten mine was 240 and havent noticed any power loss...

Old thread but ...

No power loss until 280, then a severe cut at 300. Prior to that I did have some minor power loss thanks to heat soaking the Stillen G3's and increasing intake temperatures, but that is greatly improved since I insulated them.

Heat soak on the G3's?? Interesting, didnt think that happened since they are CAI...

LOL. Sure the air they bring in is cold, but when the metal tubes get heated to well over 200F they become little air heaters. The stock plastic tubing is far superior in this regard as plastic is a good insulator. So you start the car up with your G3's and it feels great right after warm up, but after a few laps on the track or carving the switchbacks it starts to feel more sluggish.

I used the same product as wstar to wrap the intakes, works pretty well. You need 2 total as it is a dual intake. I didn't bother with the lacing as I didn't care about it looking pretty; zip ties and foil tape.
