I was goofing around some japanese aftermarket sites (MCR, Mines, Impul etc). Saw this new item on Impuls website. They are listing it for VQ37VHR too. The EXTRA POWER KIT

They have been out for awhile, but they are way too expensive. Which is prob why no one has installed them yet.

I believe ppl with a S14 used to put S13 throttle bodies on their car, but that body didn't cost that much as this one.

Maybe when the engine of your car has a real restriction there, but I don't think the VQ37 has these issues.

Let's put it this way, unless you've done everything else, there is a better way to spend that kind of money.

What about getting the throttle bodies bored out? As much as I want to decrease intake restriction, I still prefer stock intakes.

It's usually just a rebore and a larger plate used to do it for gm v6's if a shop really wanted to get fancy they could fixture it up for a lathe and turn out many sets in a short amount of time from standard cores. If i wasn't working 12hr days already and had a set of throttlebodies to work with i'd do it myself. Maybe in spring once tax return, i mean accesport gets here. Can't see why GTM couldn't do this for a couple hundred. It really matters what size hole is in the plastic manifold because sticking an 80mm throttlebody on a 76mm hole isn't going to do jack.

Beyond basic bolt-ons I think adding power N/A is no longer cost effective.

I know this is obviously a much more complicated system, but I remember paying $400 shipped for a very nicely done Accufab 72mm throttle body AND intake plenum for my Mustang. My cat-back was only $350 + 25 shipping, too!

Great concept but the price is definitely out there. I'd like to see what kind of returns you can supposedly get from these.
