No codes. Scanned with my onboard Torque app when it happened and an OBD2 scanner at the house. Like to hear back on your issue though if it’s similar.

Inspected and tested coil packs, no burns and all passed the manual's resistance testing.

Yes. Drove 160 miles roundtrip last weekend without issue. It was similar highway driving then side street like when it died. I still don’t have confidence in it to very drive far though.

Dang, with 10 gallons in the tank? Only took 7.5 upon filling the next morning. I know of it with track cars but that much fuel and a typical intersection turn will cause it too? That will seriously make me consider selling. Its not worth the two options to solve it with one being VERY costly and the other a hack imo.

Trying to find out the O.D. (Mm) Of the pick up port the sock mounts on as Holley has only 1 hydromat size option for direct fuel pump mount.

Fuel starve will effect some Z's more then others. Some will never get it. Others will starve at around half tank on the street. On the track. Some have starved at 3/4 tank. On the street. It could be driving habits/ style. Most of your off ramps/ on ramps are right turns. Some are hard turns if you push it. Most people are more comfortable making right turns than left turns. If the fuel pump was on the drivers side of the car. I don't think we would be talking about it as much. Phunk has a great understanding of the fuel system in the Z. He knows all of the in's and out's, and short falls.

Here's my thread on phunk's RRP kit install. There's pictures in the thread you might look to look at.

Update.

Did nothing so far and the car has been running fine. Had a buddy hook his ship Snap-On scanner to the fuel pump leads and it has a perfect waveform draw, nothing excessive nor erratic.

I confirmed the OE Pump inlet at 11.7mm so the Holley Hydromat should work as an alternative pick up sock.

Did it again today while idling in a parking lot after 1.5 hrs on the highway. Wife called me inside the store and said it sputtered and recovered twice and the third time died. When I got back to the parking lot it cranked many times before starting then sputtered as I gave it throttle and died. Half tank of fuel sitting in a level parking spot.

Replaced the entire fuel pump assembly due to the post directly above ^^^^^

Car starts without issue every time now when heat soaked, no more long cranking issue. Hope it was a a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Let's see if it helps with the stalling and not restarting issue.

I have seen this before ^^^^^. The pump just takes a dump when hot. It happens.

The first time it happened in Sept. of 2018 the pump motor was only 3k miles old, then didn't happen again until last weekend. I took the exact trip as last weekend at least a half a dozen times without issue. Very frustrating and as previously stated hoping replacing the entire assembly with a new OE plus CJ hat fixes it.

New OE pump (full assy) and CJ hat fixed the issue. I'm sure the integrated fuel pressure regulator was on the fritz.
