Block heater cable fell to the ground.

Does anyone know where it is supposed to reside and how to run it back through the car without having to take the bumper off. Thank you.

If nobody comes up with a good answer, check the FSM (link in sig).

Thank you. I am not sure that block heater is standard anywhere but Canada. It might not even have be done by Nissan at the factory. Which PDF would I need to look at?

I wrapped it around this area. Hope it is not anywhere bad. I'll get the dealer to put it back when I go for an oil change.

Not sure. Put all the PDFs in a folder and use your PDF reader to search all documents in your folder for "block heater".

Hi, cooltoy.

On page 5-29 of the Owner's Manual, it states "Open the hood and unwrap the engine block heater cord", so my guess is that it should be fed up into the engine bay somewhere. I have the FSM combined into one PDF and searched for "block heater" and "engine heater" with no success. I've started searching by just using the term "heater", but as you can imagine, there are alot of results so it may take me awhile to get through the whole thing. I'll keep looking, though. PM me your email address and I'll be happy to send you a combined copy of the FSM.

I live in Chicago. Garage is unheated. Has to be cheaper than idling the car for 15 minutes before heading out, or laying electric oil radiators under the engine block lol

The only block heater reference I could find was in the Engine Mechanical section of the FSM. EM-116 in my 2011 FSM has an exploded view of the cylinder block that shows the location of the cylinder block heater for Canadia models.

Maybe you can trace the cable from there (shows it on the back side of the engine block above the MT Flywheel/AT Flex Plate) and figure out where it fell down.

I don't think I can get to any of that area without bumper and fender removal, or putting the car up on the lift.

I am hoping that the area that I wrapped it around is secure and I will let the dealership deal with the cable in during the oil change in a few month.

If you have a place to plug it into, that is definitely the way to go.

This might be of use to you.
