I really need to get my Z looked at. I still get an occasional grind in 5th. I worry about the dealer being able to replicate the problem as it doesnt always do it. How long did it take your dealer to actually diagnose the prob?

Problem completely gone now with new gearbox; even 2nd to 5th works fine (it takes ever-so-slightly longer than 4 to 5, but still amazing compared to the old shift). Baker Jackson is the dealer here. They have a "performance tech" that looked at the car and figured out the problem. Didn't even have to drive it for them and no one challenged the diagnosis. Maybe this problem is well-known now; probably appeared in enough 09's they know the score. --ZOM |
