I have an 11' base/touring w/A7 & removed diff myself &'installed a Quaife ATB unit,,,Love it; basically plug & play...replaced bearings,seals,mounting bushings.
Got everything from Z1 Motorsports.
I removed rear oil-filled bushing from rear crossmember & replaced it too.
I reused factory 3.357 gearing & did not have to add any shims to either side; just installed everything in it's original place,,,torqued & checked tooth contact & backlash...perfect!

Helical & yes it locks and will drift.....no clutches or special lubricant necessary.
Look them up, I'll see if I got a picture to post.

I've run both the Quaife and the Cusco in mine. For a mostly street driven Z I would go with the Quaife. It will be very smooth and relatively maintenance free.

A clutch type LSD like the Cusco will be overly aggressive for a street driven car. I can't imagine DDng my Z with the Cusco in it.

Don't even bother with a VLSD like the one that came with the Sport or Nismo.

The mechanical noises from the Cusco doesn't bother me one bit for daily driving and no others will perform as well on a track which is one of the reasons I got it.

Any LSD for a 350z/370z will work so long as you get the right stub shafts. You just need to find someone that has the magic decoder ring for which diff requires which stub shaft and which one goes in which side.
