![]() OP, all you need is a way to check the transmission temperature. The trans fluid will expand as it is heated. Once it reaches the proper temp, the fluid level should be even with the level check plug. Ideally you should fill it slightly more than full so that the excess drains out when it reaches temp. This way you know it's at the correct level.
