Definitely DO post the disassembly and fix. The benefits will far outweigh any potential risks. Frankly if my car was stolen, I would end up with a new one and my steering lock problem would be fixed. Pretty sure that car thieves don't worry too much about steering locks. And all the anti-theft **** in the world won't stop someone from towing your car away.

So, on with the DIY!
