Great job with the DIY. Bunch of cool peeps on here. This site or group has really answered so many questions a manual won't answer, and let's not even talk about some of the dealerships. they get real creative with some of their answers and OEW PRICES! Yes, I'm one of those that reads everything in the car manual but the safety part , I don't totally ignore it but let's just say I breeze through that. Hopefully this will help someone that needs a cabin air filter for the 370 Z at a really cheap price right now. Wal-Mart right now has the Purolator: C35479 for 6.79 free shipping. Yes free shipping. Of course I bought two. Thanks again for the DIY.
Presto and BeemaaZ like this.

Just so you're not surprised, those aren't Purolator. They're aftermarket replacement. Not that it matters, I use replacements a lot, just thought I'd give a head's up.
Let us know if these fit well.
I just put a filter in yesterday and it cost me about three times that much. This would be a lot better as long as it fits well.

I had same trouble with the screws also. If they went in hard, I just pulled the screw back out and picked another, until I found one that went in without high effort.

So, I did mine today after being in the car for seven years now!

I removed all the screws as shown in this thread, and then pulled on the glove box - and the whole assembly came out....

Really was easy, then look what I found when I opened the filter box door..

Thanks Nissan! Someone was in a hurry and didnt get it installed correctly.

Ohhh and the replacement filter was $7.87 from Oreilly's.

Thanks for the DIY!

Make sure the clips that the screws go into are in the right position. This can cause headaches if not

I got it out back together but not happy with it cuz the screws aren't flush in a couple spots. But I don't think it'll fall out it feels good. Just annoying I'll have to work on it again another time. kinda hard to tell but 6 isn't in all the way although it won't move anywhere

Did mine today after acquiring a long screwdriver to reach screws #5-7. This thread was a huge help as was this YouTube video that I found that I don't think has been linked here. It is for a G37, but very, very similar.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I5RL0VbYe8

The first time I tried putting the assembly back in none of the 5-7 holes lined up. I re-tried it and they looked good. However, #5 didn't screw in flush, but it was solid, so I left it as is. Screw #6 was lost in the abyss when I tried to put it back in. I hope to find it and have better luck next time I change the filter.

This change will certainly give your back a workout!

Props to all the previous posters itt!

Yeah. #6 looked like it would have gone back flush if I hadn't dropped it out of reach (without disassembling everything again). #5 just never looked like the holes were lining up 100%. To be honest, I was relieved that #7 lined up well.
