DIY: Adding In-Cabin air filter to the 370Z

Can anyone post the best/most up to date instructions for removing the glove box and installing the in cabin air filter? I have the Nissan oem B7277-1ea0b in my possession.

So it has been a little frustrating for me, the screw #6; I hate that one, it has fallen somewhere in the back of the glovebox assembly and although I can hear the screw rattle, I cannot seem to be able to take it out, plus I am not sure if I have broken some of the screw holding structure (U-nuts?), I am wondering if I need to remove the electric cabling to get the screw out and if I need something else to put the screw back in, would a magnetic long screwdriver and some U nuts be enough to get this done?

You're going to need to take out the glovebox itself. Follow the FSM and you'll be fine.

So, I was able to locate the "FSM" at https://www.nicoclub.com/archives/us...-database.html, assuming that is what you meant, I am unable to locate the specific document for the glovebox removal, searching online, it appears that I might just be able to disconnect the cables and get it fully out and then reconnect them after I get the lost screw from behind the assembly? What do you think?

The rest you can follow caneman88's to install/replace the filter. I just have one thing that I found might be useful and that is to cut 4 slots on the bottom of the filter wall so that you can close the vent door without smashing the filter. You'll know what i mean when you take off the vent door. Just line up the slots with the 4 things on the door and make like a 1/4" -> 1/2" cut. See pic for approx locations, measure the actual location with the vent door.

Yes the arrow on the filter points down. Air is sucked from the top and down into the circular thing.

I assume you guys know how to reverse the directions to put everything back.

Well… I know this is an ‘old thread’, but please don’t cut any slits / slots in your air filter. The white plastic ramps serve a purpose. They push the filter up against where it seals as you close the access flap.
