Help 2nd set of new brake pads squeaking

Rusty, are you saying you went through two sets of pads like me before you finally eliminated the squeaking by doing the bedding procedure ?

Sent you a message. Guess you never read it.

Rusty, thank for you input. When you said "The pads need bedding. 2 new set of pads and never bedded them." Did you mean you had the same problem with two sets of pads before you tried bedding ?

No. You had 2 sets installed. And they was never bedded properly. You need to take the Z out and bed the pads. Find a straight piece of road. Go to about 80 mph. Stomp on the brakes hard. Slow down to about 40 mph. Take the speed back up to 80. And repeat. Do this for about 5 times or until you get brake fade. Once done. Drive around for awhile until the brakes cool off. Don't stop until then. If you do. You will get a pad build up in one spot, and it will feel like a wrapped rotor.

Definitely this. Most of the "warped rotor" problems I've run into were caused by making a panic stop and staying on the brakes; solved by bedding.

FWIW: For the OEM-spec pads I've installed over the years, 2-3 runs of 60-10 has done the trick. It may take more for hi-performance pads.

I have been running on the 2nd new set of Pads (Akebono's this time) for about two weeks with the same original squealing when backing. I have not bedded the new pads yet but to those of you that suggested the bedding procedure: Do I need to start with a new freshly turned rotor or is it ok to go thru the bedding procedure now after two weeks (approx. 1500 miles on the new pads) ? The squealing only happens briefly when backing after she sits for awhile and only about 50% of the time. Never squeals going forward and I think it's only coming from the left rear.

You bed the pads without turning the rotors. I've done it. You should hear Carbotech XP 10 and XP 8 combo on Racing Brake rotors before bedding. Can you say slowly killing a cat!
