I remember my college roommate and I each had S14s. I had the Porterfield R4S (street) and he had the Porterfield R4's (race) Bedding mine were so much easier. His required like 10 runs and mine required maybe half. His brakes were basically an on-off switch though. Insane stopping power

As long as you take the time to bed in the Carbotech XP8 and XP10 brake pads correctly they will work great without making noise. I used the Carbotech XP10 in the front and XP8 in the rear at my last track event and they have simply amazing stopping power.

I think I said before that I thought the noise was coming from the left rear. Before attempting to bed the pads, I put here up on the lift again and pulled of the left rotor. We found some scaring on the left rotor emergency brake drum on the rear side of the rotor. Looked like something had gotten caught between the shoe and the little drum for the emergency brake. I am not sure that had anything to do with the noise but I decided to replace both rear rotors. Then bedded in brakes with six 60-10mph braking runs. After the first three runs I drove for 10 to 15 min. cooling rotors then doing the three runs followed by another cooling period before stopping. Problem solved. No more squealing. Thanks for all your tips
