BAF....we understand that you have become the "authority" in car audio with in this forum. but with all due respect, in this particular instance, you need to understand that you might be wrong and try to humble yourself and actually read what Dave wrote. he clearly stated that he did not use the amp he snipped each specific wire for each speaker AT the Bose amp. Dave should be commended on the work that he did because he will now save hundreds of people from hours of work and pain of having to go through the firewall to the doors. Dave kudos to you and haters are going to hate.

also fYI any in line crossovers would be at the speaker and not buried somewhere within the wiring. so once the DIY is done those that will be doing this particular job will be confident that they won't have any issues with inline wiring.

Neither of those two threads apply. Did you miss the part where I said I am not using the bose speakers, and I am not using the bose amp?

At the end of the day, this is a car forum not an car audio forum. If anyone wants in depth information about car audio. A place like DIYMA to start is a better source. That said, BAF means well and I credit him that.

Im sorry i have to disagree. this a a forum for the Z Car and all that goes along with it. Referring to a separate forum dedicated to car audio for a specific issue such as the Z Car Bose system is like telling someone to go buy any kind of oil for your engine since all engines use oil...dumb. This forum is all things Zcar and car audio is a big portion of it and your comment takes away credit from BAF and others (myself, Dave etc) that have contributed quite a bit in upgrading their audio systems.

Also im not taking credit from BAF im just stating that he need to read what others are contributing and give credit where its due.

Not going to get into a shi tting contest with you but will point out what I said was 'in depth' information about care audio and to be honest, I have not read nor seen threads on this forum with much in-depth information about Bose mobile audio let alone car audio so my comment stands.

Credits are due and I've said it as much. I don't take what has been posted on here without merit but it has to be taking with a grain of salt since it surely seem like it's an automatic to shi t on Bose without taking into account packaging, integration, cost and personal preference. Would I have it in my car if I was to build my ride? No but for all the noted above points, it sure works well most of the time for me AND for many many people.

So your whole comment is a oxymoron and a total contradiction of credit given.

The point that I was making, is, the resident audiophile needs to take the time to comprehend what others have written before passing judgement and stating that they are wrong. Daves beginning point was that he has made the BOSE head unit functional for other forms of speakers without having to remove the stock BOSE deck and his initial post was not to doubt Bose quality. It was simply made showing that you don't have to spend all kinds of money on a signal converter to keep your deck and use aftermarket speakers/amps. As i can tell dave is not *shėtting on Bose in total, he is shėtting on their sad paper cone clown horns they call speakers.

No credit was given for in depth information since there was none given and I am not ******** on Dave. He and I knows that.

Changed out my factory HU to an Alpine W927HD, 7 inch touch screen. Instant alternator whine and the speakers sound like they are about to blow up. Wish I would have read this before I changed the HU and would have replaced the speakers at the same time. I've tried messing with the crossover, have downloaded what the exact specs should be and put it in the HU, still sounds like crap. It's embarrassing if I turn up the volume. Snap, crackle, pop.

Did you ground your bose amp wire from the harness to the same place as your head unit? Is the ground a clean solid ground? This usually is the main cause.

I paid to have it done. Took them 3 days to install a HU and a Viper alarm, they claimed the first Viper they installed was bad so they had to do it again. They messed up my S Mode, the car is at the dealer now and the Viper alarm will not remote start. Not happy. Will search around this site for recommended shops near me to do the rest of the audio/repairs. With 3 days time I expected perfection.

Very sorry to hear this man.

I personally do not even touch push button start cars for remote starts yet. Your lucky they didn't fry the cars computer.

I should be out there in a month or so if you would like me to look at the audio.
