Adding the bypass kit later will be very easy and they do plug in to different places so not then end of the world to do separately. I agree there is interest in the bypass kits but also some are very keen to get their hands on the camera kits. I also want to get some input on what you guys want. On the GT-R I used a remote because I didn't really have anywhere to put the 3 or 4 switches (or didn't want to). I would really like to work with a few of you on the best solution. I see a few potential offerings 1) For those happy to cut and splice wires then I can just write-up a free DIY guide 2) A plug and play harness so no cutting of original wires is required and you use you own switches 3) A plug and play harness with switches 4) A plug and play solution using the remote |

1 = DVD Bypass (toggle on/off) - Allows viewing of Aux video/front camera with handbrake off 2 = Nav Bypass (toggle on/off) - Permits use of functions that are normally disabled while car is moving 3 = Backup Camera Bypass - See camera without engaging reverse 4 = Switch between Aux Video In and Front Camera The main Kit (all plug and play). This is a preproduction kit but final kit will be very similar. |

I have already done the speed sensor and parking brake bypasses based on DIYs I found on the forums here.
The parking brake bypass is permanent. You just ground the wire from the parking brake and you can watch the DVDs while moving, no side effects. Bypassing the VSS sensor allows you to use all the menu items on the nav system while moving. This one needs a switch because when you bypass the VSS the navigation doesn't work well. The system only polls the GPS every 15 or 20 seconds and fills in the rest of the movement based on the speed sensor. So you switch the VSS bypass, use the nav menu, then switch the bypass off so the nav works well.

As I said, all I'm really doing here is giving people a solution that doesn't require cutting wires. If you are willing to cut wires then you don't need this. The only addition is the backup camera override and again I will post a DIY for anyone interested (Now I know there is already a DIY on NAV and DVD I will probably just search for it and add to it) Jeff: Sorry for sidetracking this backup camera thread. |

The question was whether we would offer to include another supplemental kit (the bypass kit) which I made for the GT-R which enabled things like: Passenger being able to watch auxiliary video feed while car is in motion. Ability for passenger to enter address or tel number while car is in motion. Ability to see backup camera without selecting reverse. It is really something completely separate but you can image that people might want to install both at the same time (especially if they were getting someone else to do the install) and that is where the questions came from. |

Hello. I have 2010 w/ Navigation. I was interested in the back-up camera w/ harness. I was also interested in bypass kit. Could you please send me a PM w/ the cost of both? Thanks.

post deleted...Sheesh! I don't know what happened. I should have refreshed my browser before my last post as there had been about 10 other responses that came up since the post I wanted to reply to. Sorry.
