I was using the calculator and I am unsure about the rear sidewall and the front set up said it would stick out 1.6" farther and be .4 closer to the suspension. I wont be able to measure any of these distances since I wont be near the car anytime soon but they offer a 18x9.5 with a +40 offset that will only stick out 1.1" and sit .9 closer. I am at stock height and suspension. Will the 1.6" it sticks out plus the tire cause the set up to stick out past the fender? I know the gap is not small but I honestly don't remember. I have no problem getting front camber arms if needed plus it will help a little on the track.
You won't be able to use 40mm offset in front. It wouldn't fit. It will be about about flush. I would look for a lower offset for the rear or use spacers. Not sure how much more clearance there is in the rear but you want it flush with the front anyway. I'm not sure about your question about camber arms if you are staying stock height. I wouldn't install camber arms and add more negative camber just to make the top of the tire flush while pushing the bottom out. Since you are at stock height it isn't a big deal and can't tell since there is a big gap. 15mm spacers in rear I would bet but you can measure once you get them on.

The 27 should work for the front then? I can see how the rear looks and add spacers if needed. I know the Nismo's run with a 19x9.5 40 so that's why I thought the 18x9.5 40 would work but I guess its the tire size that would cause some issues.

Yeah those are wider tires. I know with the base yokohama tires I had less than an inch of clearance to the control arm. If you use the wheel tire calculator it should tell you how much closer it would be. Not sure if you have a sport model so those tires would be wider already. I have 285 on a 10" et 30mm and it just barely clears. Go ahead and plug my wheel and tire in and then use the one you are considering and if it is any closer then you know it won't fit. Use rimsntires.

The size calculator says 100% clear for everything, I used your size as the OEM and 275/40 on a 18x9.5 et27 as my new set up. Hopefully it works!

27 offset with 275 tire will work.

I have a 20x10 + 27 with 275/30/20 tire running oem camber arms. never rubbed. with aftermarket camber arms and a lil better camber setup, i could even run a 285 and maybe a 295 up front.

Perfect, I know they are going to clear the AP's that I am putting on and these will save me a lot of money. I may still get set of Nismo's but I still need to save for two sets of tires. Thanks for the help.

I'm thiking this wheel and tire setup will have a square look.

F 255/35 19x10
R 285/30 19x11

What offset, front vs rear, would get the wheels to line up with the outer edge of the fender?

On Swifts with -1.3F -1.6R camber.

Why don't you find a wheel you like and see what offsets they offer in 5x114.3 before you ask us these questions?

With hundreds of posts in the thread, I'm sure it has all been here dozens of times already. Still, hopefully this repeated information is helpful to some new'ish folks like myself.

After absorbing all the fuzzy numbers in the thread, it looks like my subjective ideal is F19x10 +15 and R19x11 +5. I'm hoping it doesn't stick out too aggressively, but definitely not the sunken in look. Maybe it'll be the neutral flush look?

That said, I wanted to be able to convert that subjective ideal to other widths/offsets.

I can do the math, but ended up using this tool that automates the calculation.

I'd like to avoid spacers but realize they tweak the math so if I'm set on getting wheels that are out of my offset sweet zone, I can do that.

I also wanted a square look for the tires. This tool shows how square, fat, or stretched tires will look.

While I had already been looking at Advan, Forgestar, HRE and Volk, I figured that I'd get to know the geometries a little better before making a big investment.

Finally, some LOLS. At first cjr1881's response didn't make sense to me. But, I was researching something else, FI 18" CF CBE, and I ran across this gem. Ok, I get it, LOLS.

I admit my inexperience here and probably haven't read widely enough.

I figured if I could get an 'ideal' measure for offsets that represents "outside of wheel lines up with outside of fender", for a specific wheel width, then I would use that as a baseline. From there I'd never have to ask again since I could do the math myself to convert that ideal to any other wheel width.

Maybe it doesn't work that way so i'll keep reading.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Default I suggest

Go to getyourwheels.com and ask for Eric. I have 255/35/19 and 295/30/19s with Avant Garde 9.5 with 20 offset and 11 with 18 offsets. Perfect!

Nice setup, how much of a drop are you running and what's your camber like? I've got a set of GS4's 19x9.5+20 and 19x10.5+0 on swifts and want to run 255/35 & 295/30 like you but don't want a huge amount of neg. camber.

Ihave not lowered. I prefer the look as it is. Not a fan of lowering simply because i like the look and any possible scraping. Go to my picture album for more shots.SAM_0988.JPG
