Come on people, lets help each other out. (OP)

Striderx88: I think it will, mainly due to the offsets. But remember, as I've said before, I am not an expert. I hope someone else chimes in for you.

Default Need help on offset; want to be sure this will look right

Here's my current setup: 18 X 8 front/18 X 9 rear; 225/50 front and 275/40 rear.

I'm looking at getting the following setup: 18 X 8.5 front with +30 offset and 18 X 9.5 with +25 offset.

I don't know enough about offsets to say what will or won't work so I need help! I mostly worried about the rear offset, will it fill the rear wheel-well. Also, will I need a 245/45 tire for the front?

Thanks!

These sizes and offsets are very weak! I would as a minimum reccomend a 9.5" up front and a 10"+ rear. These are more suitable to our cars and will allow you a greater range of tire widths. I would also reccomend a 245 upfront and atleast a 275 in rear. Let's put it this way... I Could slide the 370z on 255/305 setup and do standing burn outs while my car was stockand don't forget I'm on 20's! If you go 9.5's try to get as close to +20 offset. Now for the rears if you go 10.5 I would say as close to +0 as possible!

Good luck

Ahhh. Thanks for the feedback/help. The setup I'm looking at now is:

18 X 9 +30mm and 18 X 10 +15mm. I'm going with 245/45 upfront and for now, a 275/40 rear. On a 10-inch wheel, what's the widest tire you would recommend?

This really depends on the tire brand and model... No two tire sizes are the same (I.E. Dunlop 305s are not the same as toyo 305s in spec sizes). This is also going to depend on the cosmetic look you want too! Stretched/bulged... I will tell you this a 245 on a 9" wheel will look identical to a stock 19" profile but just a few mm taller in sidewall.

There is sooo much more that goes into picking a tire for me but that's because I know what to look for like tirewall stiffness and multiple compound tread. Actual spec'd size of tire and more...

So all in all you are fine with your choice but if you find yourself digging for that last .1 around the track every bit helps.

Hey, Bullitt, thanks for helping with some specific information. I'm sure Drum1972 appreciates it, as do I. I sure hope we can get more knowledgeable people chiming in. And if not in this thread, I still advocate a "Central Clearinghouse", Sticky type thread to integrate all these questions about wheel fitment in one handy section.

Thanks again.

not sure if you ment 8.5 or 9.5+20's on front,
rear's should be fine 6.71 backspacing & 5.29 frontspacing-almost 1/2" further out than stock nismo 19x10.5+23's.
front's 8.5+20 has 5.54BS & 3.96FS.......9.5+20's have 5.96"BS & 4.54"FS
factory Nismo 9.5 wide wheels are +40 7.08"bs & 3.42"fs
running the size tire you mentioned are 26" tall-so the fronts would be the one's i'd be more concerned with.
8.5's should be fine,,,not sure about 9.5's-have them send you pic's
have a nice day!

Hey guys im about to change tires for the first time. I want to run 285 rears and 265 fronts. The tires I want are fine for the rears (285/35/19) but the matching tire for the front only comes in a 265/30. Will that smaller aspect ratio look weird in the front? And with those size tires what specers should I run to flush the tires with the fenders? Thanks

it will fit but only with camber and a tire stretch. You will most likely rub too if your lowered. Most guys are running 10 +20~25 or so in the front when they are trying to go big like that. Your adding 6.5mm more to the outside making you more aggressive than most people on 10's up front. You can try it but its going to require some work. I hope this helps

I don't think there are any in production. I know a few guys were trying to get some vendors to produce them but I don't know if anything came of it.

I agree. 4 Rear Nismo wheels would be pretty sick. Maybe stagger the tire size a bit though. It's also going to be pretty expensive.
