I was planning to buy 20" rims with the following specs for a 2016 Nismo Z.
Fronts: 20"X10” +30 with with 275/30/20 tires
Rears: 20”x12” +20 with 305/30/20 tires

Has anyone run this setup or something similar? I was trying to figure out if I need to do any modifications (Roll Fenders/Camber adjustment). Also, the Nismo has fender flares and I was wondering If that needs to come out as well.

My concern is the rear wheels rubbing against the liner or the fender flares when the suspension is loaded. Also concerned about front tires making contact during full steering lock. Please let me know if anyone with this setup has faced any issues.

Thanks

ditch the rear nismo flares, they are stupid looking and the mounting points protrude inwards and reduce clearance

I am running 20x12 +20 rear with 315/25/20. around -2 camber (stock is around -1.8) You should be fine. Nismo rear fenders are also pre-rolled from the factory.

Fronts are pretty conservative. I am running 20x11 +15 w/ 275/30/20, which is very aggressive. rolled and pulled fenders and -3 camber. For your sizing, you shouldn't need much work , it depends on height.

In any case, i always recommend SPL Front Upper control arms at minimum for full camber/caster adjustment in front. Rears optional but highly recommended

Yeah, I'd remove the flares if there's clearance issues. For the fronts, Did you have clearance issues on the Inside of the tire or the outside? I'm running stock ride height and I don't want to roll the fenders. I'm thinking if a 265 or less wider tires would help clear the front fenders. I don't want to get camber arms if I don't need em.

You're upgrading to 20s. Eventually you'll want to lower the car and kill the gap. Arms will be essential

No inner clearance issues bc the Z is quite cavernous underneath

Fronts, people have run 9.5 +22 and 265 without issue so u should be ok

Fender rolling is easy, heat gun and baseball bat to do it cheap or find a local shop. Rears are rolled from the factory

Sorry noob question, Do you really have to lower the car? Will getting a thicker sidewall decrease the gap?

Yes, I would love to lower the car an inch or two. But I have an APR splitter and live in Michigan. I already scrape at most Driveways, so I don't think I'll be able to lower the car if I plan to keep the splitter.

You bought a sports car, you aren't going to find any miracle solutions that do whatever you want and come easily or cheaply. This is just the reality of modifying your car.

you wanna look good? you need to lower your car, buy supporting mods, and wheels to fill out the wheel wells

you wanna be functional? be ugly, live with it

To meet your needs, i'd suggest full air suspension, which is pretty common these days and will cost you a few grand, or an air-cup suspension system, which just adds about 2 inches of liftability to your static setup. There's a variety of options out there, Platinum, Umbrella, i think Fortune Auto is cheaper and pretty good

This not a bad setup but 10.5 square is even better imho.

Thanks, Hotrodz! It was on sale for ridiculous price. Can I go 275/40/18 on those?

Got another one for y'all:

FRONT: 19x10 +24 with 275/35
REAR: 19x11 +0 with 305/30

I am also putting on SPL front and rear camber arms but would not like to exceed 3 degrees of camber. Ride height is about 1.5" lower than stock. Will this fit?

Almost all of the 18x10.5 et15 setups I've seen run 275/40s
