Red face What does the370z think about ESR wheels?

Hi, all!

So I'm getting coils this summer and want to set up a budget for some Work Meister S1 3PC's.

For the meantime, I'm wondering what you guys think about ESR SR06's--I've seen good and bad reviews of ESR's wheels, but IMO the SR06's seem like a decent, yet cheaper, alternative to Meisters (for the time being). Considering Meisters are like, what, $4000 with tires brand new, the SR06's are only $800 shipped to my front door... Much more doable for an engineering student!

I don't want to be that guy with fakes, though, and I'd love to put some OG Works on, but unfortunately my college payments are saying I ought to do otherwise

What do you guys think? Should I hold off on wheels completely until I can just afford the Works? Or do you think that the ESR's may be a good option for year or two until I can afford them? I mean, I could always run spacers and all that on my OEM wheels to get them to sit flush, but I've just always loved Meisters.

Thanks

This... is a copy of another wheel i think.

I've never heard of ESR... i am wisely hesitant to recommend something I've never heard of.

The $800 you would spend on knockoffs is 20% of the total cost for the real wheels. Why pay twice? That's not even getting into the whole quality debate.

Why do something twice and spend more money in the long run? I'm all about doing it once and doing it right.

Save for nice wheels if that's what you want... Do you have sport wheels already? If you do - keep in mind that, in terms of performance and quality, your OEM rays are pretty tough to beat.

I have the black 18" OEMs, not the Rays unfortunately! They're not bad looking, by any means, I'm just looking to do something a little different is all

That's a very fair point! I'll just be saving up money then, as there really wouldn't be a point in getting reps anyway. Thanks

There's a middle ground between cheap garbage and $1,000 per piece wheels.

Rays Gram Lights are a pretty good entry level wheel imo.
Work Emotions too, if you stick to one-piece stuff
Enkei would be great if they would grow balls and go up to 19/20 inch sizing (they don't)

Really though

Just look for a used set of OG TE37 or TE37 SL's
Quality is unquestioned. Fitment is ok, easy peazy.

I joined this when I bought the car brand new, forgot it existed, and then was pleasantly surprised when I saw it's still as active as I remember Thank you for the kind words, though! I don't see why somebody would ask a question and then disregard the majority of the answers they receive, though... Like, why even ask the question in the first place? Oh well, who am I to judge haha

Give it a few minutes, some idiot will try to justify financing a Z at 30% interest rate and will still go through with it even after receiving good advice here.
