Exactly. I was considering picking up an electronic boost controller before I got re tuned, but if this takes care of that need I'm saving money I can blow on more car parts.

Yep...what about a 3" exhaust or some sway bars?????

Chuck33079 06-14-2013 08:48 AM

I've got both of those already. I'm down to buying little stuff, which is nice because it's much cheaper.

Hotrodz 06-14-2013 02:41 PM

That very cool...I keep asking myself where and when will it all end! I'm not sure it will as long as the car continues to bring me joy!!!

Ecutek will bring us all joy again

I've been scanning this thread for a while and I'm fairly convinced I want to try this system at some point.

Just wanted to throw this out there. I have a stock 370z and I live less than 10 miles from the dragon. If someone wants to test traction control programs, I take my car up there about every 2-3 weeks as it is. Also, I would be willing to pay for dyno time for a before and after comparison (e-tune I would assume as Z1 is the closest to me). Keep in mind it is a stock vehicle so I'm not sure how beneficial the graphs would be.

I plan to be doing some bolt on upgrades over the next several months and I can post graphs as they are added and retuned.

Guess I should post here...haven't seen anyone else do it yet.

Should have our first(?) Visconti/Ecutek tuned, turbo Z soon.

Chuck33079 07-15-2013 07:10 PM

Sweet! Looking forward to results.

Awesome! Keep us posted.

Congrats....I'm kind of tired of all the talk and speculation, let's see some results!!!!!!!!!!!

elperuano 07-15-2013 10:14 PM

Definitely in now....

warpeacelove 07-17-2013 03:26 PM

However as Uprev has it, I want to know if ECUTEK has the feature that increases the line pressure in the 7AT Z?

7speed 08-05-2013 07:23 AM

Question... would any of the updates down the road include rev matching( synchro-rev? That would be nice for us non sport owners.

Or the ability to reset the SRM for different rear end ratios?

Pretty sure John has a thread asking for for guys with the 4.08 gears or something. I don't remember.

Also I don't see how rev matching will work for non sport owners. I believe that is handled by the TCM which I am pretty sure base models don't have the same. These are all guess's and nothing factual btw. just talking out of my rear

Also to update...I am driving up to CT on Friday to dyno tune with John... :driving:

Not sure that will be possible, because there are sensors on the transmission for those with SRM that help make it work. Would be interesting if it could be done via software.

so far as I know, the non-sports have those sensors as well, since the gear indicators are present on all models.

I have worked on 7speed's car and didn't see any difference in the harnesses going to the transmission when compared to my car (which is a Sport)

Still, doesn't mean they can make it happen.

I remember reading an Edmunds report that said the SRM is all "ones and zeros" and does not include any additional hardware. It seems like most everything that would be needed would already be available from the ECU, like speed and gear and such. The only sensor I can think of would be the one that anticipates what gear you're shooting for when move the shift knob while in neutral.

I can see the thread now: "How many of you sport package owners are  because base models can upgrade to SRM now" :shakes head: :icon17:

Tuning AND Dynoing tomorrow folks...keep your eyes on the forum tomorrow afternoon.

You will see one of two things.

A. Thread of me weeping because my car asploded
B. Thread of me weepng because my car is making boatloads of power

Haha I wasn't doubting his abilities. More or less a joke about my build. :p Really cant wait to see what he squeezes out of it.

Made 400whp 350lb tq on 8lbs. Running that for now for testing. Found a lot that need adjusted and changed

MyKindaGuise 08-10-2013 05:03 AM

Just got home from the 3 hour drive from the shop. Yes we were there 12pm-1am.Lol I'll have pics and videos and stories.

Tldr version....
John is ******* awesome and MRP is a great shop. Let us hang out all day and use their lifts and tools to make adjustments and fixes. We melted some wires but doctored those. Got sorta stranded for 3 hours. Almost had to tow it home. Anyways car makes about 420whp 360tq on 8lbs of boost on a much smaller turbo than the VSR kit. That was on a mustang dyno. So add roughly 10% for the higher reading dynos. Anyways were not done. This was just to get a feel for power levels and what adaptations we need to make. Spotted a few things and I can easily snag 20-30whp more on same boost. Also car Freakin rips through 60-130.

Any who its 6am, been up for 25 hours....time for bed no more car life today.

G37Sam 08-10-2013 12:05 PM

These are some solid numbers, please post a dyno sheet when you get a chance I'd love to see how the torque and power build up :)

Trying to get one now. Freaking left the print out at the shop. Being 4 hours away from home+working for 8 hours on the car+being tired=me forgetting it.

I have some dyno videos. Working on youtubing them at the moment.

If you are talking about the 7 speed auto trans, I believe they all have the rev match down shift, sport & non sport models. At lest that is the way the brochure shows it.

VVEL and the traction control stuff are bigger deals to me. More timing options as well.

All I know is if it is good enough for guys to slap on their 100K GTRs well then by golly, I think my little 35K sled will be alright with it.

I would say that if this is a daily driver, then the use of multiple maps is a good option. When I put on my snow tires, I'd change over to my stock maps when I used UpRev on my other ride; same when I had to take it to the dealership. Once summer hits, summer tires and the Go Fast tune back in place. Just saying its a good option if you need it and I used the hell out of it. :driving:

This. I don't know about you guys but I love taking my car EVERYWHERE. Having anti-theft(no crank) had already saved my car once since I got it. Also.. on much higher elevation my car feels a lot stronger on stock tune and being able to swap to it in a matter of seconds is even more of a plus.

This and rev match correction (compensate for lightweight flywheel/4.08 gear) are the only options I'm waiting to be available before moving forward from UpRev.

puckshaw 10-01-2013 08:13 PM

Any updates on availability of the additional features?

Not yet, I am working with ECUTek on getting up to speed with a few things and ironing out some other stuff.

At the moment all we have is simplified ignition timing.

Still wondering why there are no dyno sheets . I think it's was great that Seb tossed a link to their car but I thought guys where getting tuned an or had been tuned ? Just really curious as I want to see something ( more than 1 ) that I can compare to my 298 whp 230 wtrq UPREV tune I had

+1

Also just FYI there have been some developments with the 370 software from Uprev recently as well, its not in all the roms yet but they say they were able to pull an additional 8 whp out of their test car... :hello:

I can confirm this. I got a new tune from UpRev a few days ago and it made a world of a difference in the low-end and mid-range. From 2700RPM - 5000RPM the pull is much better and much more noticeable, and the power delivery is exceptionally smooth too.

There are solid gains in the lower range on top of that, but the biggest are where I mentioned.

But still want to see some numbers ! ;)

Tuned Dark lines VS untuned.

Tuned Dark lines VS untuned.

Could easily be dyno tolerances, but I think the untuned curve is preferable.

Lots more torque until the very end where they swap.

ANMVQ 11-06-2013 11:24 AM

Yea thanx man, same dyno ! Can't wait to get a tune tho .

carlitos_370z 11-06-2013 12:06 PM

great!!! i think the tunner who work on my STI in the past years works with EcuTEK if thats correct i think im going to tune with him :)
