Hey guys, we have heard great feedback from our tuners regarding our new simplified timing algortihm that everyone has been asking for. Please see our FaceBook page for my details. The new timing tables make the car run much smoother, and have many benefits. You don't loose your tune file, you just need to have your tuner adjust the timing tables (nothing else), and since there are so many timing corrections, it can probably be done without the use of the dyno, by simply looking at previous logs from your car or your old tune file. Your tuners were also sent instructions on how to transfer your old tune files to the new ones, I know this because I made it myself, as well as the simplified timing algorithm. Sorry we wanted to make you guys happy by having complete control of timing, sorry you think "UpRev f****d up"

So with this said, does it not stand to reason that for those of us who have the tuner cable and have the capabilities to handle the tuning ourselves (not saying that I can at all) you should be able to give the people who ask for instructions to transfer their old tune files to the new ones? Only seems like the right thing to do.

I am happy UpRev is finally allowing for VVEL control and have added their ARC features but until they can offer flex fuel tuning and lets say the throttle hijack and full control of the traction system then there will be plenty of us still looking the other way. Keep the updates coming and hopefully we will all praise your name once again!

That would make too much sense.

In my opinion, any costs one derives from this would be better put towards an Ecutek license.

I am in complete disagreement to the marketing strategy !!

The upgrade is a good features IF IT DOES NOT DESTROY your work (..and money..)

So, if automatic update proposes an upgrade, it's mandatory that old maps are fully compatible!

In another way, is it not technically possible?
Well Uprev must release the ROMEditor v2.0 and specify that IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE !

My tuner says me that dyno it's necessary.... ....it is not safe to adjust TA using the sentiment....
if I'm allowed to speak my opinion; by looking over datalogs of the previous tune and seeing the ignition advance the car ran at the time you are able to make your old timing table. UpRev did not send a blank timing table all new roms come with a pre-filled timing table that is actually really good. if you are N/A and your tuner does not want to take a datalog of your WOT pulls along with your steady state adjustments and adjust the base map accordingly he is just milking you.

if any of my customers tuned with the older ARC features want to "upgrade" to the new timing feature I'll be able to do it without having to put their car on the dyno by doing what I said above, to be quite honest it'll run exactly the same.

if your car is F.I. I can understand his concern, however it's the same principle. datalogs will show the actual ignition advance and he should be able to re-create the ignition map relatively quickly. (maybe an hour?) paste your MAF, Fuel & Injector settings into the new map and send you on your way, a few datalogs can show any adjustments (if any) that will need to be made.

as far as all the guys doing their own tuning, just look at your old logs. your ignition advance will be shown there, paste all your fuel settings manually into the new rom and be about your way. if you can tune your own car I'm sure you can change the settings over. if my input is not appreciated or welcomed I'll be more than happy to delete this post. I'm just trying to help you guys copy your maps over to the new features and move forward.

Ok, you are saying that the conversion is a simple work, very simple....

Simple at point that Uprev reply that:
"There is no other way around it you must re tune if you want the other 4 maps to have different timing tables."

...and my tuner is milking me...

I don't know, but I have a little doubt about it...

Why Uprev does not promote a conversion service? Even for just 50$??
