The sound limits vary from site to site. The SCCA has a cap of 100db (@ 50') enforced at all events. My home site in San Diego is 92db @ 50'.
My 370 with a CAI, Berk HFC, resonated mid pipe, and stock muffler, blew almost 95db @50'. With no muffler I'm sure it'd be over 100. It is getting harder and harder for autocross clubs to find and keep good sites for events. Maintaining a positive relationship with the surrounding residents is a big part of the necessary politics in keeping sites available. |
