With guys like that, just take trip down pit lane and put space between you DA, then call them out in the download.

Point bys are nice, even if your group doesn't require it. Just let the driver know you know he's there, and point them by.

Spec Miata's. Hate those guys.

Blow by them down the straight, only to have them eat your rear bumper in the turns. I normally let those guys go. And give them some distance. Pull into pit lane then go back out.

I’m getting ready for my first track day, so do I need a lap timer, or do the events have a way of tracking times?

The simplest way to get your lap times is to down load "Track Addict" on your
phone and mount it where your camera can record out the front.
You'll get times and video of your track day.

I use Racechrono Pro, and I also have the Garmin Catalyst.
Racechrono Pro - works similar, but there is a bit of a cost for the pro version
Track Addict - is good too, I use to use it...

See how you like tracking and if you get the bug..

Here is an example of the Garmin, I like it for it will talk to you as in coaching.
But its a 1000 dollars, so you would need to be a bit serious about tracking...

Yeah catalyst looks sweet, gonna wait until I get a few track days under my belt before I spring for that, plus I’ll have an instructor for the first few times.
