Because 350Z's started getting quicker when they started to drop in price and younger people could afford them, make the right mods and drive the piss out of them. Also, it took a bit for people to figure out what not to do, and what to do in terms of properly racing the car. No one wants to be the guy to discover what limits the transmission or diff has..

Seems as people get older (let's say 30) they really don't care to go to the track and improve every weekend. I hate to have to say I am the same way. I've been to the track once with my Z, and until I get an oil cooler, really don't care to go again (granted my track is about an hour away). Doesn't mean I lost my passion for driving, just means I lost my drive to commute to a track to get yelled at and kicked off because I don't want to buy a helmet .

I will say this though, a lot of the 370Z owners I have met seem to think their cars are gold. Or baby the car so much it takes the fun out of owning a "sports" car
Not to mention NISSAN started to give them more power as years went by.
