Yes why isnt this a sticky thread yet?

I ran at Branson Z Fest on June 3rd, but it was 95deg out and about 85% humidity, so needless to say with the not so great track prep and those high temps I could only muster a 13.4 out of my total of 5 runs, which wasnt even close to my 12.9 of last year even with the LTH's Oil cooler and tune.... :( I need to wait for the temps to cool off so I can try and get deeper into the 12's

Tell me about it bro... the turnout at the track yesterday was about 1/40th of what it was last time, because true track heads wouldnt even waste their time... half second slower is about what everyone said they were getting yesterday when I went..

If i do 12.4 ill get out of my car and do a back flip... and feel like my money was spent well... lol

Methodical4u 06-10-2011 01:35 AM

What can you get with a header back exhaust (not headers though) with the drop in panels with tubes? 12.8 if you're a good driver?

One_Quick_Z 06-10-2011 02:29 AM

^ Yes, I got a 12.94 with,

K&N drop ins
HPS Post MAF Tubes
Berk Test Pipes
HKS Exhaust

And this was on a cold day 45 was the high temp and the track prep was not good so I rolled off the line at 1500rpms.

Z eliminator 06-10-2011 07:07 AM

Z drag day is June 25 up here at St thomas race way in ontario Canada.
Im going for broke with the racing brake back 2 piece rotor's (12 lbs of the back axil and GTM traction control (I will be using the launch control) set at 3800 to 4000 rpm).
This should lower my 60 ft times (2000 rpm now). 1.855 hopefully to 1.78's or lower.
12.3's or lower.
all i need is good weather.

Yes its possible with just that. I ran 12.8 with just high flow cats and flywheel. Weather was 70 degrees with 65% humidity. Granny shifting, not double clutching like I should...

i'm not a drag guy personally... i'm asking about the times more because my Evo X with the mods I had I was told by my tuner I could run a 12.8 or maybe a few tenths lower... it came out to 383 whp BUT it was a virtual dyno.. however they claim they are very accurate with a dynojet.

I did however love the pull the car had and with a Z it is different.. I just wanted something similar because I would like to do some road course stuff just for fun at some point.

I don't know how you guys are pulling the numbers you arte posting but up here in Morrison Colorado in the Rockys I am not even close to your numbers.

My Z is mildly modded with Stillen CAT back, HFCs, and CA intake and my best time is 14.8 @ 93.11 mph and my best run was 14.9 @ 99.77 mph.

On my time slip I am car # 152 and the other car I am racing is a 94 Mustang GT that is heavily modified with Drag slicks and I am barely beating him.

The 5300ft elevation must be really robbing my ETA.

Yup, that's why it's nice to record DA numbers with these results as well. You can get an reasonably accurate DA for most tracks here by plugging in your track + date + time (or raw altitude / weather data if they don't list your track): DA Calculator - Density Altitude Calculator - DragTimes.com

m4a1mustang 06-14-2011 02:42 PM

Your 60' times are really bad, and yeah, that altitude is killing your power.

^^^

I think the only thing more surprising about the fact that you're barely beating that Mustang GT, is that he bothered to put slicks on that thing. It must be stock at best.

2fast4thelaw 06-14-2011 03:18 PM

Actually his engine is "built" He has a 3/4 race cam, GT-40 Intake and Heads, full length Headers, no Cats. My Car is nearly dead even with that Stang! We are dead even until the last 300 ft which is where I pulled him 3 car lengths. He hooks up better than I do which is no suprize since he's running slicks.

Thanks for the Calculator! I put in the figures and if that race was at Sea Level it would be 13.32 seconds @ 111 mph which was what I would expect. My car is also not tuned and that would improve it even more.

About my track time, Give me a break, it was the first time I ever drag raced my car.
