12.5@117.98 - I reckon there is a 12.2 or 12.3 in there with a burnout

Unfortunately the noise you can hear at the 19 seconds mark was my front left tyre going , so game over

Maddog,,,if you can get a Hole-Shot like Ajcool;you'd probably break in the 11's.
I see you got some cool air over there & i did't post my time slip with the 82+ hot/muggy/sticky air & warm car,,,,,,but i will.
It's Depressing to add 40rwhp & go slower....But my best time was in mid-high 50 degree weather w/worn 23lb. tires/compared to the 32lb each ones on there now.
I'll dig up my slip & post it to a quote under my best run.

This may be a tad clearer/ but weather will play a huge role in times & trap speeds.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...d22f9a54fd.jpg

Definitely nothing to brag about here: but 13.6 was all I had on this hot muggy day; gonna wait on some better air & have some good drag radials next time out....left lane was a definite no go/ as far as traction.

The quaife makes a difference though doesnt it ?

A holeshot wont help the times though better to focus on the launch in rwyb , I dont care whats in the other lane

I'm hoping to get some time in August to get a couple more runs in , this time with burnouts, less fuel on board and an empty trunk

Thanks. I removed the jack, spare and carpet from the trunk. The only thing in it is the stock sub.

^^^ Sweet. Nice and clean. Super MPH. Stand on the brake and throttle for a second next time. 1lb of boost is better than vaccuum. I learned that.

I was just reading THIS thread last night and wondering WHY after so many twin turbo kits have been sold and installed (Fast Intentions and others) has no one been clobbering my heavy G37 from four years ago.

Your trans sounds smart shifting. Good work all around. 11.5 with ONLY a 2.0 60' is great. A torque converter would place you right in the top two.

Thanks.. I still have two maps to play with at the drag strip that have a brake boost option. I will also run the car in Phoenix which I believe is 900ft elevation vs. here 5000ft and 7934 DA which is killing my ET.

I look forward to the updates! You've done so well with conditions WAY against you. Good luck.

Just broke my previous run this past weekend 11.47et 128mph. No boost changes just the DA was better.

Need a HS converter if you don't have one. My times went from 11.9-11.5 and 60ft 1.95- 1.70 just by only changing the converter. Same boost. Here is your time corrected to sea level. Actually the DA was worse this run than the last 8330. This run you cut a better 60ft.

SharpByCoop 08-02-2016 08:48 AM

Bring that car to Atco, NJ !!!! :) :driving:

I know you will succeed even more. Yes, a converter and good air will put you in the tens. That's great MPH.

Thread drift: Although I no longer have the G37, Here's why I'm still interested.

Thanks for the info! This confirms i can get into the 10's at a lower elevation and better DA.

Thanks Coop... I just have to keep working it :driving:

I will be data logging this weekend to get an updated tune for my elevation since the car was tuned in California. Should squeeze some more power out of it and finally get to try my brake boost option.

Congrats on your win glad to hear you are still in the game!

Clean ride

Awesome time in this heat!!! Will be even faster in Oct-Nov when it's sucking in cooler air. Is that your best so far? I've been to Atco a couple of times not in my TT sedan though. My goal is 10's no G sedan any generation has done that.

Noob question, how do you use brake boosting to your advantage at the drag strip?

It's a map option (for autos) that Seb made for me that allows you to build boost at the line. You press your brake, hold the handbrake at the same time and rev it to build boost while it holds the car.

You have to upload this program separately with your Ecutek cable. I have not tried it yet because we are still doing adjustments to my base maps for my high elevation.

Have you been running the 1/4 mile lately?

I'm starting to think a new thread needs to be created so that the list can be updated by an active member.

Sounds awesome. I have a brake boost switch on mine (6MT) but haven't tried messing with it at the track yet. Ummm I guess technically yes if you want to call it "running" - turns out I am realllllly terrible at this so far. But NT05Rs are going on tomorrow and I'll be back at it getting some practice on Friday T&T. Any and all launch advice is welcome!

Practice, Practice and then Practice some more... This will make you good.

I need to get back at the track now that I have the new tune but need to data log so Seb can check. Work is crazy and gets in my way of having fun :shakes head:

That is correct, we set it last night at Darlington Dragstrip...we were 0.084 seconds away from the overall record, but we are going back this coming week to attempt it again.

*Update* We just set the 1/4 Mile World Record Today with a 1.600 60 ft!

Hey guys i blew my head gasket at the end of this run. It was my first and only run. My intention was to run it hard and launch it hard on my following runs but she didnt make. Well heres the video and slip. This was w nt05r's in the rear. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...1fa5eb581a.jpghttps://vimeo.com/190364062

actually id dint spin at all, i actually bogged bc it was intended to be a practice run and to feel the track out. But run number 2 and the rest never happened. I did a nasty burnout and heated up the nt05rs really well. The wheels never spun, just gripped and went. Got next year to look fwd to again.

hjo1078 11-05-2016 10:29 AM

the link for the video is right next to that time slip lol kinda hard to spot, but you can see after i cross the line a ton of smoke coming out.

Here are my time slips from my first 2 runs bone stock & not even broken in yet (just 560 or so mi before the first run). I did not think it was too shabby. I look forward to working to better them. (Sorry pic posts sideways even after I rotated it. I'm 62). She is a Sport Tech.

jchammond 11-05-2016 07:45 PM

Black Widow...warming the street tires a bit will help; i see you were spinning-due to your 60' time...these cars will get under 2.00stock.
Good Job!
