i used Hagerty last year and probably will use them this year because of the SCCA hookup. I am also a SCCA Member. Only problem I had with, every time I got insurance I had to list all my mods again. Have not seen if they correct that this year?

Pricing for my Z was around 150, but it all depends on your mods, to come up with the value of the car.

That doesn't sound that expensive... does that $150 cover you for the whole season?

I use it almost all the time. https://ontrackinsurance.com/ is the one I use. It's not too expensive when considering how much an actual track day costs. Actual accidents in HPDE are rare but it does happen. I have never seen one in a beginner group; I have seen ones in the intermediate groups those are exceptionally rare; In the advanced groups is the most common but still rare because they are pushing the limit of what the cars are capable of and often have racers in them trying to find the braking and turning points of the track. Mine usually works out to 185~ and it's per event, it doesn't matter if its only one day or three.

I just used Lockton for a HPDE, 19K coverage, 2K deductible, $150. I did enjoy the event more and was less stressed knowing I was covered as opposed the the last event I did without coverage.

I was on the fence about getting it and a coworker said "imagine the conversation with your wife if you total the Z and don't have any coverage." I realized goodwill toward my Motorsport activities would be mostly over if that happened.

Always. Lockton or ontrack. Better safe than sorry.

If you actually read the entire Hagerty packet, there is a clause several pages in that states they won't cover damages caused by nuclear catastrophe.

Something to consider.

Yeah that痴 a really good point. If I wrecked and wasn稚 covered I wouldn稚 be going to a track event ever again either.

My recent experience with Hagerty:
I was late in doing this for SCCA Track Night for Last Wednesday (4/24).
So I did it 2 days before and was shocked that it was 363 dollars.
Considering last year it was 118 dollars. Better safe then sorry.
Well I called them and got a call back the other day.

Here are the reasons for the increase cost:
1) Track Night was at Road Atlanta, it costs more, more walls
2) Last year they did not charge for itemized mods, this year they are.
3) I listed my mods, about 18K, bringing car value to 32K..
4) If you list mods and file a claim, they will replace the mods like for like. vs just stock parts.
5) If I had not listed mods and said my car was work 32K, Track Insurance would been about 158 dollars.

Not upset with them, it was just an education and the rules changed....

So now I have to review and re-think
1) just get insurance based on car value, and not worry about mods.
2) start looking at other track insurance options (Lockton or ontrack)

and life goes on....

Lockton has events listed, like track events at big name tracks, but what about running at your local drag strip? Are there any good options for that?
