Malko(eagle) and I have always been fairly close at all tracks, often times within a second of each other so it's been fun to progress with him. The only Z's currently running faster than either of us are actually 350's with aero(which makes a huge difference in which line you can carry through Turn 1 and 2). They are coming in at 1.52-1.54. The fastest time ever in by a 370 was paul dentice 1.53x from AE performance(paul walkers old company) Car was very light, well tuned, JRZ suspension and Paul D is a hell of a driver (and a really nice guy!)

I would expect a Z decently driven to do a sub 2:10 their first day at ACS(depending on experience etc) I think ACS was the third track day I ever did and can remember 2:10-2:12 oem everything and scared sh1tless. Our guys that have been running for like 1.5 years are starting to tap 2:05's. The 2 minute mark is a tough goal to hit. Once you are through it you are like, oh that's how you do it. I can easily see a 1.55 in my future-I'm sure Malko will be right next to me lol.

Ya i think my next visit can be touching 2:05. sub 2 min is hard in my opinion because i felt like i was driving the sh!t out of the Z and got 2:08

I take the bank at about 110mph, what do you usually take that at?
Not a bad time at all, you have the FI TT kit though right? That much power on tap can make the car really tail happy lol

Coming into the bank i was probably somewhere between 135 and 141 mph. By the time i dropped down to the apex I'm still above 100mph, not sure exactly how much but after i hit that apex im back on the gas close to WOT.

I don't have the FI TT kit. I just have Stillen G3 CAI, FI CBE and an Ecutek tune. Getting down to the nitty gritty, I have stock rotors and pads (sport package) , motul Dot 4 brake fluid, Redine Dif fluid, and Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position.

At the end of the bleachers just into the bank im right at about 131

I'm on stock Nismo wheels and I am TT so if I go with 71R's I will probably do 285 rear and 275 up front or go 285's square. Really just need to get to the track and get some seat time and instruction but I want to make my time there count as each trip for me is at least a 5 hour drive.

Sorry had your car confused with HotRodz lol. Even so thats still very respectable given your mods, i was probably hitting speeds closer to yours my 1st time i ran ACS. I know my nismo aero helps quite a bit especially at a track like ACS, so that's a decent advantage for me

Ya 2 thing i have a small disadvantage in:

1: Roadster (top up) = 150lbs+ extra weight
2: always have a passenger = 200 more lbs

so how much of a difference do you think each of those disadvantages add in time with all else remaining constant

totally throwing random numbers out but maybe .3 with 150 lbs and .5 with another passenger? .8 seconds total? more?

That additional weight could easily be a couple seconds right there. Also because it's a roadster you're missing a little bit of chassis rigidity that the hard top versions have and will probably experience some flexing of the chassis on the tighter/harder corners which i could see translating into some funky behavior when the car is transferring weight laterally.

I've never driven with a passenger during a hot lap so it's hard for me to say how bad it might affect my time.

I don't look but somewhere around 140. It is really the area that is 90% of the time of your lap. Just look at the map. Not sure on your setup, but on OEM suspension, you really wont be able to go much over 125/130 anyway because the compression in the 20 degree banked corner will easily compress the oem suspension to bump stop.

For having done it 3 times, 2.08 is not a bad time by any standard especially ina roadster. You going to chuckwalla by chance this month? I will be out there both days, can ride along with you if you go.

Also to Bshields, get rid of your OEM pads asap. Also get some good brake fluid. I no kidding have seen people burn through a set of OEM pads in one day and rupture their calipers, especially on a track like ACS which is very very hard on brakes. Our series will be getting 40% discounts on Endless products this year for participants. Endless brake fluid and MX-72's at 40% off is as good as it gets. Lot of guys like carbotech setup as well go 10F/8R. I could tell you I would personally be hesitant to get in a car as an instructor at ACS if the car had OEM pads.

Can't make it out this month to chuckwalla. But I would like to do another track day very soon. Next time we are at the same track I'd be down to ride with you. I always like to see what limits different z set ups can do

My last rack day, my OEM pads were at 90% life. Im def going to switch out my pads for the next track day. I have Motul Dot 4 brake fluid in now which seems to be pretty solid. How can i get Endless pads for 40% off. What are some other good pads you guys recommend.

Eagle, feel free to chime in as well.

Motul makes good brake fluid, i used to run their RBF 660 and was pretty happy with it.

Currently running Brembo LCF and its just as good if not a little better. If you want endless pads for 40% contact Corner 3 garage and tell them you're interested in running nissan challenge

Basically that, Endless USA went in big for a sponsorship with the C3 series. Couldn't believe it but they have not been doing all that great for last few years. Their pads are the best I have ever used, but they are a bit pricey(worth every penny though). At 40% though, that's huge. They are going to be very strict on the deal being for participants only. There will be some contingencies like stickers on car. Need to be verified that you are attending events etc. The details are still being worked out, but yeah just call john and tell him Greg and Malko sent you.

Wow! just looked up pricing and they arn't cheap lol. I'll def look into getting the discount for sure. Say i don't meet the requirements or there are things I can't commit to in order to get the discount, what other pads work well for street/track use?

I haven't tried other pads, once I found something I liked I kind of just stuck with it.

I hear CarboTech and StopTech pads are pretty good, but never had any experience with those on the track or street
