Arsenal's title pursuit in tact after nail-biting win over Everton | Dominic Fifield | Football | The Guardian

the writer of this article is a ****. CLEAR offside goal. maybe some of the ladies in the guardian office need to explain the offside rule to him

gotta love the double standard. United has been ekeing out wins by sheer luck, played poor through many of their fixtures, and yet the press claim they have the 'heart of a champion'. Arsenal pulls out a 2-1 come from behind victory, and we're blasted for a weak defensive pairing that has kept clean sheets for more than a few games in a row now, and we should've bought in the transfer window.

i hate the english press.

Red370 02-03-2011 05:00 PM

call it what you will, but I found this comment to be absofuckinlutely HILARIOUS.

"The France midfielder beat off stiff competition from Carlos Tevez, Nemanja Vidic, Frank Lampard and Gareth Bale to claim the gong that he also won in October and December."

Soccer: Cesc Fabregas' childish behavior is getting old - ESPN

proof that american sports writers need to shut the f*ck up about soccer sometimes. good lord, what a trash article.

Quote:

But this latest spat does serve to once again suggest that Fabregas is not the player that Arsenal needs to take the Gunners to the promised land of Premier League and Champions League glory. This season, his play on the field has often been overshadowed by the likes of Samir Nasri and Jack Wilshere. And besides, Fabregas has made no secret of wanting to return to Barcelona.
anybody who believes this is a self-righteous cunt. yes nasri is our player of the season, if not league player of the year. wilshere is growing faster than ever. but cesc is the heart and soul of this team, no questions asked.

cow 02-04-2011 06:59 AM

Weak article for sure.

lol wtf happened to Arsenal

Red370 02-05-2011 12:29 PM

more importantly, wolves are handing ManUre what looks to be a stunning loss, hope they can keep it up.

Red370 02-05-2011 12:34 PM

Nasri out hurt us today. Badly.

phelan 02-05-2011 01:10 PM

wtf happened to the Gunners? Newcastle's dirty tackling. Diaby shouldn't have reacted though, no place for that in the game anymore. Nasri's loss didn't kill us, Diaby's immaturity did.

I hope Song is a fast recoverer, because we have no other holding midfielders left.

This is eerie, I swear I've watched this happen before...except the last time, we lost our No. 9 to a poor challenge...

Red370 02-05-2011 01:14 PM

Nasri out hurt us for the simple fact that we didnt get to play our possession game, they spread the ball wide and kept it away from the center which is our best area on the field. We needed better hold up play up top and RvP, Nasri and Theo would have complimented each other. Kos had a shitty second half, single handedly gifting the second goal. Squillaci is on the cusp of retirement the way hes been playing, absurd display today. Diaby was an idiot, but we all know Bartons dumbass deserved it, the effin thug hes always been. Defense killed us today and Szes looked shaky at times, regardless, if Wolves keep the result, We'll be a point closer to the top and still sitting in 2nd.

phelan 02-05-2011 01:17 PM

A point closer to the top when really we should be three points.

The problem is the next big game is the real test: FC Barcelona.

Losing this one hurts BAD. You can see it in the body language. All the momentum we had built up was basically burnt up in a heartbeat. And we 'salvaged' a point by virtue up slamming in four goals in the 1st half. If we didn't have that lead, it would've been Tottenham all over again!

The squad has recovered from the Spurs game, so we need to see the same kind of skill and heart to recover from this one. But make no mistake, this one hurts, more than any game of the season so far.

COME ON WOLVES!

phelan 02-05-2011 01:26 PM

WOLVES WIN IT!!!!!!

bwuahaahahahah SUCK IT MANCHESTER!

well, at least SOME good came out of today's matches

well, who am i kidding. today is going to really hurt for a while. and i'm spooked that djourou picked up something that will leave us only squid in the back for barca.

Red370 02-05-2011 01:37 PM

lmao the Invicibles run stays with Arsenal, Suck it ManUre. The draw hurts, but it was away at Newcastle which is never an easy victory. The second penalty was harsh, but ultimately our play wasnt where it needed to be. This was a confidence killer for sure ahead of the Barca match, i'm kicking and screaming hoping Nasri will be fit for it and hoping it was just a ploy by AW to keep him out of international action.

cow 02-05-2011 05:46 PM

Foul on Van Persie. Apparently Dowd didn't have a good view.

Oh wait.

There's no way Dowd didn't have money on that game.

blue660r01 02-05-2011 08:04 PM

cow 02-05-2011 09:05 PM

Yep. Glad Arsenal is done with them this season.

So apparently Interpol is investigating Phil Dowd & suspicious betting on a draw (3:30 odds). Waiting for a link in English for more information.

phelan 02-07-2011 11:38 PM

If anything I hope the lads recover faster than the fans do. Or Wenger, for that matter. I've never heard the team go "wow AW had nothing to say.."

Looks like Djourou on twitter is feeling better, took a nasty knock during the Newcastle game. I hope he recovers in time for Barca.

seriously, though, i haven't been this distraught since ramsey went down.

cow 02-08-2011 09:18 AM

The only thing I saw him post said something like, "Thanks for the concern, see the Arsenal website for details."

cow 02-08-2011 09:20 AM

Nothing concrete, just a lot of speculation that his season is done?
