Starting lineup and tifo from Tuesday, haven't seen the C-link that loud and supportive since the 2011 Open Cup Final!

 Hoping to get me a scarf there on Tues. Maybe the new centennial kit if they have my size there.

I believe part of the reason our tickets were so pricey (relative to Sounders league games) is because they gave everyone a free comemorative centennial scarf with US vs Panama and the date on it. I would hope they would do the same down at Rio Tinto. I didn't know about the free scarf until I got to the gate :excited:

Haboob 06-14-2013 12:14 PM

I hope that's the case!

saber 06-14-2013 12:35 PM

i wish we'd get rid of the stupid flying soccer ball badge and replace it permanently with the centennial logo.

Ditto that. Everything Centennial-related (kit-wise) is fantastic.

Haboob 06-14-2013 01:45 PM

I wish they had a red one though.

the new crest on the 3rd kit (red with blue diagonal stripe) would look good, i'd think.

After a brief search, it appears that a box of the SLC scarfs was sent up here by mistake so here's what you're getting:

Awfully quiet down in Rio Tinto....

shadoquad 06-18-2013 11:23 PM

Thought Zusi played poorly in the first half, but was then awesome in the second. Ewe Ess Ayyyy

saber 06-19-2013 10:21 AM

It was quiet in Rio Tinto because Honduras kept breaking up the game, either through design or just sheer bad luck (how injury prone are they???)

Altidore had TWO quality goals, one of them just a smidge offside, but clinical finish. The one that counted was almost a carbon copy finish. Good to see the AZ Alkmaar version of Altidore showing up on the international stage.

JNews86 06-19-2013 01:35 PM

Balotelli

shadoquad 06-19-2013 05:34 PM

Wow... Japan's first goal was a gift. The second was great.

Italy looks like dog dung.

saber 06-19-2013 05:35 PM

Japan absolutely sh*tting on Italy. PIRLO WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

(That first goal really was weird. Never seen that before. Either play on, or send Buffon off. Can't be a yellow card...but okay, whatever.)

shadoquad 06-19-2013 05:40 PM

Buffon got ball. Looked clean to me.

But Italy's mids and D look bad

saber 06-19-2013 05:43 PM

PIRLOOOOOOOOOO

Putting it on a platter for De Rossi

JNews86 06-19-2013 05:46 PM

TERRIBLE clearance on Japans 2nd

saber 06-19-2013 06:40 PM

how did okazaki not score that lol. inside post, cross bar, omfg

italy's got a 6-4-0 going :roflpuke2:

shadoquad 06-19-2013 09:17 PM

lol I can't believe the result

saber 06-20-2013 12:59 AM

tough on japan. italy's experience brought them home, but they can't play that badly again. pirlo was badly outclassed, as was most of the italian midfield. kagawa and honda were incredible.

I don't like the sash on those kits. Just doesn't fit.

We tried! I thought for sure we were watching USA v. Italy with all of the falling and crying going on by Honduras, but they didn't even try to score. They were clearly playing for a draw, or loss - as was evident after we had scored. :shakes head:

Plus, the Seattle crowd is a more well-tuned machine.

In SLC you have people like me that only get to see the USMNT play a meaningful game once every four years. Beyond that, I don't get any practice with other USA fans on a regular basis for singing, chants, etc.

Sucks not living in a soccer town.
