I'll take Chelsea Bayern over Madrid / Barca anyday.

But do you really think Sepp Blatter will let Barcelona fall before the finals? lol

Good win for the Blues, congratulations guys. But the stats and from what I hear, the Blues were really lucky to nick it, Barcelona hit the post a bunch of times.

Good luck at Camp Nou!

Yes, my friend was updating me as well and said Barca had hit a bunch of posts. Lucky us:tup:

I just wanna beat Barca, I dont even care if we win it all. If we can pull off a similar result at Camp Nou I would be elated:happydance:

cow 04-18-2012 10:28 PM

Chelsea were REALLY lucky to knock that one. They defended brilliantly & had some good fortune, both with the posts being hit multiple times & Messi injuring his groin right before being dispossessed & then Chelsea breaking to score.

Fittingly (if fortuitously), Drogba's goal was scored in injury time which had been added due to his having faked injury (I think) five times in the half.

my thoughts exactly, he'll make sure what happened to Arsenal will happen to Chelski, one player will go in with a silly challenge worthy of a yellow and be sent off at 50 minutes. That or a dubious penalty will be awarded, I have a feeling Barca will be flopping all over the box to pull this one out.

I agree with both you guys. Michel Platini probably won't let that happen either. It's impossible not to say Barcelona are not the best team in the world at the moment, however, there have been times that their semi final/finals have been marred with controversy because of all the cheap tactics they are known to use on the field. The diving, the play acting, swarming the officials after a defender sneezes on Dani Alves or Sergio, that's what I hate to see. That's exactly why Mourinho was quoted saying it is 'impossible' to beat Barcelona at home in the Champions League. I hope what happened to Arsenal and Milan won't be repeated, but I can't help but feel at least two or more Barca players are going to try to buy a yellow/red card or a penalty.

i don't really want to say this, but I think Robin Van Persie is too good for Arsenal (in its present state/team)

phelan 04-24-2012 03:41 PM

seems like there are two things messi will never do in his career
1) win a world cup
2) defeat chelsea FC

blue660r01 04-24-2012 03:44 PM

Bayern/Chelsea final would be awesome!

Jon@AAMComp 04-24-2012 03:59 PM

I nearly fell out of my chair when Torres scored, what a breathless game. Seeing off Barcelona on their own field with 10 men is incredible. :happydance:

but jon, be serious. WTF JT. WTF!

JT can be thick sometimes, I don't know where this comes from. He only needed keep his wits about him and he probably would be captaining Chelsea in our second Champions League final. It's a shame really, it's probably the last chance he'll have to lift the trophy in his career. You should know Barcelona well enough now that any chance their players have they'll try to get you booked. Deserved red though, silly play from the captain. Lamps will probably wear the armband out on the 19th of May.

What an epic performance though from remaining 10. The ones that stood out most to me were Ashley Cole, Ivanovic and Meireles. To contain a fully fit, 11 man Barcelona squad for an entire half, AND go on to score on the break is nothing short of legendary. I can honestly say, even if I was a neutral, this was one of the greatest games of football I've ever seen. It looked like a movie being played out on the field. The missed penalty, the red card, the last 'hail mary' from Bosingwa to find a wide open Torres, this game had everything. Fitting of a World Cup final.

I'm very happy for Chelsea, but also proud of the Premier League. I'm also sick and tired of hearing about Barcelona, seeing Barcelona whine, I'm so tired of this team. They are sore losers too, has anyone else noticed that? When Inter sent them crashing out two seasons ago, during the Inter players celebrations on the pitch, the sprinklers were turned on. Last night, less than a minute after the official blew the final whistle, they turned on Barcelona's anthem at what seems like the highest volume level the Nou Camp could muster. Now that's world class. Yes, Barcelona glory hunters, your team too can be beaten. Madrid showed that you can be defeated on your home ground and so we've shown that too.

I feel like the win/elimination last night wasn't only for Chelsea, but for Arsenal too. It was for AC Milan, Real Madrid, any team conned out of a fair match against the biggest cheats in football history. We'll do our best to make Premier League proud come May 19th.

We have a game on our hands gents. Bayern just pulled one back. 3-3 on aggregate.

phelan 04-25-2012 02:49 PM

what a game! the semifinals this year is one to remember!

should be only 1-1 though, that penalty to open the game was soft.

Alchemy 04-25-2012 02:56 PM

Ronaldo looking for the hat trick I see. I hope Bayern steps it up and pulls off the win. I wanna see a Chelsea vs Bayern final.

These have been the best semi finals in recent memory. Madrid and Bayern will be decided on penalties...

Bayern did it! They are through on penalties! Bayern vs. Chelsea, your Champions League final.

that was an awful end to a good game. LOL SERGIO RAMOS.

Yessssssssssssssssssssss!

blue660r01 04-25-2012 05:06 PM

Called it this morning too that it would be decided on PK's. Woooo

phelan 04-25-2012 05:18 PM

i don't think chelsea really has a chance at this one now. bayern? at the allianz? it's a home game for bayern (obviously), and chelsea is woefully understrength, more so than bayern.

blue660r01 04-25-2012 05:31 PM

Also, don't forget Bayerns record at home in the CL.

forza370z 04-25-2012 11:24 PM

This is the final I want to see! Good job Bayern!

Looks like everything will be in favor of Bayern in the final. Especially Chelsea will miss so many key players due to the suspentions. But never underestimate the blues. Everything could happen. I am looking forward a good match in Munich!

Red370 04-26-2012 04:05 AM

phelan 04-26-2012 03:08 PM
