Caught the Venus transit in between clouds yesterday afternoon, was really worried I was gonna get hosed by western Washington weather again after missing the solar eclipse a few weeks ago (4" Celestron NexStar Maksutov-Cassegrain scope, 1325mm focal length, Nikon D5000 camera body and a class A solar filter, prime focus shot, 1/1000 sec, ISO 2000):

Here are some from my trip to Santa Barbara last weekend with the Fiancee...man I love that city. Critique is always welcomed from you guys.

I would've liked the rock to be sharper...not high enough on the f stop I guess, didn't notice this when I looked at it.

Only one I edited/sharpened up a bit

I like the first three, but I think they would benefit greatly from some basic editing (exposure, white balance, etc)

I did this with a monopod on 5 second exposure in 20mph sustained wind. Not too bad. I didn't really spend much time with it so there are a few specs in there that I could have edited out.

Chincoteague Island, VA. I have a blistery sunburn to prove it.
