You can definately put me on the list as someone looking to do this ASAP, at least if the price is right.

its funny you guys mention a power steering reservoir it was one of the first things i hated on our cars... ^^^^ pic above is actually a mishimoto oil catch can there was nothing in it.... empty like a coffee can.... what i did basically was bought one a while back but it didnt work as i dreamed off.... monday i came up with a way to make it work as a power steering reservoir i just ran it last night and it worked the next and last thing i still have to work on is the cap.... because it has to breathe DE makes a very good point about the fluid level.... even if its skinnier than the OE tank it carries more because its taller... (i made sure because i put all the old fluid in a container and then put it in the mishimoto one and it didnt go up to the half level....) im also not worried about the level because i have a stillen power steering cooler which increased my fluid capacity

basically guys i promise to keep the costs at the lowest but also keep in mind for the combo like DE said... the more i gotta do then the more the cost goes up.... with that being said i can easily see these things costing in the 300 range and the 400 range for the combo cans... now dont write those prices in stone please it could be less or a little bit more.... again i stress i will keep the costs as low as i can but labor is expensive and in the end i gotta make money so its worth my while..... only reason why im even going through this headache is my buddy in japan is asking to start making these "im guessing his gonna start selling these" and he has been a tremendous help in my build

Sim, not trying to steal your thunder, for $300-400, I'm almost 100% sure I can get them machined from billet for, still leaves the cap...
You said you wanted to buy the caps... I assume that you can only find them in steel, steel and aluminum don't mix :shakeshead: you almost cannot weld them together... (I say almost because it IS plausible, just a MAJOR PIA) Window is a good idea, but for an order of 10-50, it'll increase cost $50-100/each (If this sounds absurd to you guys, I promise, it's not, it's very realistic, or if you think it IS too much, lets all come up with a way for it to be economically viable) My goal is sub $300 which either depends how many people I can get on board with a 50% down, and/or figuring a less expensive, not cheaper, way out. My #1 goal isn't making money, it's more helping the forum while keeping jobs in America vs China. That said, I am still looking into other techniques, one option may have to be a NON threaded cap, kind of like a push on cap. May sound ghetto, but if it's done well, it should be gold

Again, if we're dabbling with that, the price will be really high... And I don't think you would want to lower the capacity of your radiator fluid reservoir. Also, since 70%~ of us have a CAI, there's already opened space to put oil catch cans there, so I don't think there is a reason to reinvent the wheel (And I think those hoses are UGLY AS SIN) and they'll turn brown over time... Lol

the reason why i say you need a breather is the coolant rises and falls when you run your car if you plug that then the pressure has no place to go... the original UAM tanks had no breather hole.... after a couple were sold i noticed they were drilling out the caps.... if you run your system with no breather it will come out from somewhere else... i promise you that... it wont happen right away but it will eventually.... also if it wasnt needed why would every cars coolant reservoir have a breather hole....

Anyone have a bell to ring? Can you guys tap gloves and promise a clean fight?
... im sure you'll both produce great work. Looking forward to seeing results. I for one am looking for a combo tank, so whoever makes one thats the one i'll go with.

I have 0, and I do mean ZERO issues with Simota, great guy, great to do business with, hell, if he wants to be the only one coming up with a design, no chap off my hide, I truly to Simota, and will chime in with hopeful designs, that's it (And if it's in regards to the keeping jobs state side, Guam is better than China, so it's all good there, LOL)
