2017 Chevy Camaro 1LE Price Will Increase | GM Authority
Camaro 1LE package WILL cost more than the 5th gen which was $3,500 but promise it will be less than $5,000. I'm guessing $4,500? Due to technology they has to increase the price. |
I gotta say, the Camaro is the ultimate package and for the first time in a very very long time. A car is getting the praise it deserves.
From what I can gather. Don't get the dual mode option. Go aftermarket. Dual mode is normal v8 tone at its loudest. |
Impressive no doubt. Id still rather have a 911 S, lol. Probably even the 350GT over the Camaro. At similar price most definitely a C7.

Really? $50K for leather interior....? Thats a steal!!! Still like the GT350 better though... |

You really think a 1LE will out perform an entry C7? |
Quote:
Possibly... With the 1le package, it's possible. But not the Z51 package on a vette |
Quote:
I figure GM learned their lesson in the 80's when they produced a turbo firebird that was faster than the vette. Dumb to make a car a better performer than your showcase. |
Quote:
Team camaro just figured out how to do more with less. I think it's awesome. You're talking about the Firebird GTA. Basically the chassis was lighter on the Pontiac and they stuffed a Grand National engine in it. Which was the undefeatable engine of its day. |

A few of the aftermarket companies (Borla, for example) are making a dual-mode option for the Camaro, so it may be worth picking it up as an option if you really desire that functionality (don't want to anger neighbors/passengers, whatever). From what I understand, adding the dual-mode functionality outside of the factory is not the most cost-effective thing to do. Unrelated to the above, but the rest of the thread: I'm really curious if the 1LE keeps up with the entry level vette, or is even close. This could end up being a whole lot of car for the money (more than I originally thought). |
I think if it competes against the GT350 is much more interesting. In terms of corvettes, the standard SS is as fast and can beat a C6 corvette grand sport. That in itself speaks volumes.
Dual mode wouldn't be important to me... A camaro wouldn't be my daily |
The v6s dominate the National car rental lot right now. I'm planning on renting one next week.

ZL-1= 640hp Weight deficit is 300lbs. Horsepower compensation +180hp, camaro advantage. The camaro will decimate a Z51. It's a 4 seat Z06 with base corvette pricing. Give me this and a corvette grand sport please!! |
The ZL1 grille looks awesome!

even the horrible group of owners aside they are both super common. i honestly love the vette and like the new camaro a lot. HOWEVER i really feel i couldnt bring myself to buy either one because of both aforementioned reasons. ........but every time i see a new vette i do feel a sudden urge that i want one lol |
I'm just not a GM man... at all... but they are on point lately. By a lot. They just seem so inspired to build great sports cars. I really hope Nissan can get there, but I'm not sure they will. I'm even more suspicious that they will use the Infiniti brand for anything that's not a cookie-cutter crossover, or any type of high-volume car in general.
Back to the GM - the new Camaro is sick. However, it hasn't been out long enough to blossom into its rightful place as the exciting rental car you can get at Hertz, or the sports car driven by every single redneck that won't by a Camaro. The ZL1 will be exclusive enough, but even then, you have the old-south rich that will lap those up. I feel younger buyers may have a window of exclusivity, but soon you'll see so many of these things with extra stripes, fake vents, and chrome grille inserts that it'll make your head spin. The Vette isn't aging well to me (just like nearly every Vette since the original Stingray) but the Z06 and new Grand Sport are just freakin sweet. I'd take a Grand Sport all day - I like the idea of the n/a V8 with all the fun bits around it from the Z06. The car GM is making that is really tugging at me right now is the ATS-V. A solid sport sedan with a manual. What a sweet freakin idea. If it had an Infiniti badge on it, I would already have one. I have a lot of problems with putting my money into a GM product given their recent history with burdening the taxpayer with their mismanagement and their quality control issues that have resulted in the deaths of people. Other than that, they're doing great. |

The GS would be the only way to go. I think GM shouldn't even sell the base body. The corvette interior, as much as they improved it, already looks kind of dated. And the plastic looks cheap around the dash. For about $1,900 you can completely retrofit the interior with carbon fiber to get the cheapest plastic out. But the camaro interior really looks like what the vette should have looked like inside. It's amazing to me how much the camaro is superior to the vette in terms of the interior. |

They thought and hoped the camaro would have the same drawbacks. But Chevy pulled through like champeens baby!!! 250lb average for weight reduction The fastest camaro in history. Then mustang fans thought the 350GT Would be the resurrection of mustang. Go find the thread on here. LMFAO. You'll see me saying the 350 won't cut it and others throwing me mustang history, pedigree and competitiveness.... Now we're here. The mustang didn't cut it. It's an awesome car though.... But mustang fanboys are either over glorifying it or making excuses for it. As far as mullets go.... any muscle car is a mullet machine. Chevy, Ford, Dodge. Lol. I'm not a muscle car guy.... but I have a muscle car soul. Looking from the outside in objectively. Camaro!! |
