2016 Alpha platform Camaro
A better look at the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro - Road & Track
These are the first spy shots... Looks very evolutionary from what we can see.I'm not expecting huge changes in design based on these photos. |
Nice find, still looks like it is gonna be a boat. I'm intrigued by the other boat. Dodge hellcat, horsepower is stupid!
|
How comes they keep facelifting this and the mustang almost every year?
|
Because each year it is just enough of a change to get someone on edge to go ahead and buy one. I really have no idea but that sounds good to me Lol. I agree with the Hellcat comment though. I would be buying that instead!
|
They say its getting bigger???? dafuq Chevy thinking, its already to big.
I must say though the Z28 really growing on me |

So basically they are doing a Hyundai. Changing shape and facelift every year. I personally would like to get a car that stays the same shape for a little bit longer than a one year. |

does anyone know where they sell this masks that cover the entire car, i would use on on my Z and see what reaction I get from ppl. Funny thing is that every Camaro driver stares at my Z and expects me to do the same...sorry but like someone said on another thread, when they start selling these ponies they seem to open the stables all at once and before you know it, even my next door neighbor who is an old lady has one, go figure :driving:

Also this is not an annual face-lift. it is a new chassis therefore it is a redesign. |

The clearest look yet at the 2016 Chevy Camaro - Road & Track
A CLOSER LOOK I'm just happy the camaro doesn't have a corporate grille. Looks like it's very low to the ground this time... Huge +. Everything else. That's either some serious camo or it's a shrunken version of the same car with a new grille n rear. |
Nice find, what a boat.
|
:barf::barf:: Um......
|
The wing out back is stupid looking.

Virtually no body roll, very fast and accurate. Keep sleeping on this one. I think this camaro is going to amaze from a performance standpoint. |
If camaro doesn't have false paneling under the camoflauge? This is what it will look like?
TopSpeed Renders Up A Look At The 2016 Camaro In other words virtually identical styling... I am praying those are false panels on the pre-production. It would have been nice if they modernized the 70-81 camaro. That was an awesome bodystyle that would have been very aerodynamic as a modern reiteration. 82-92 would have been better. (Thes thoughts based on THE MUSCLE group can't get out the past. Lol.) |
Quote:
Something is off with the headlights, they seem too small for all the wide panels. Should do a complete redesign and go to something classical like you suggested. |

On that note, does this latest iteration have an IRS like the latest Mustang? :icon17: |

Lot of hate on the Camaro when it's actually a really good car. My fiancé had a 2010 SS 6-speed for four years and I loved it. Still preferred my 370z NISMO over it at the time but a solid car none the less. Easy to drive fast and handled very well given it's size/weight. My Z would barely keep up in the straights and was only slightly faster on your average auto-x course.
Last year she traded it in for a 2014 Camaro 1LE which back then was very obscure and only recently has come to light in the general population. I was surprised how much better the Camaro became with the 1LE package. So much so that I almost got my own 1LE after selling my Z earlier this year. The Camaro 1LE is faster in both a straight line and on a road course compared to the Z, much easier to drive faster, more confident inspiring, essentially it does everything better than the Z in my opinion from a performance standpoint. Yes you can argue the looks or interior or whatever. Personally interiors as long as they are decent don't mean **** to me. As for looks I still prefer the look of the Z but I love the mean look of the 14's 1LE. Given the option I'd take a 1LE over any option from the Z. I bet this new generation will be better, or at least I hope so. If they carry over all the good things of the current generation on a smaller and lighter frame it will be very hard to compete with. Given Nissan and pretty much every other Japanese companies unwillingness to push performance cars forward I don't have high hopes for the next gen Z. All this coming from someone who has owned a Z since he was 17 which at this point is half my life. Nissan really needs to do something special if it wants me back into a new Z. Otherwise I'll be happy with my old Z's going forward. |

2016 Chevy Camaro teased as current-gen car prepares to hit 500k sales |

Hopefully they'll improve the interior. The current car's looks like it was by Mattel.
The new Mustang's interior is really well done. |

I think the C6 silhouette is somewhat reminiscent of the C3 |

The LT1 with a possible 460hp has been confirmed. |
It's been DECLARED!!! The Camaro WILL BE at LEAST 200lbs lighter!!!
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...EXM6l_cG_HMNMQ That means a 3400-to 3500lb v6 4 seat coupe Or a 3500 to 3600lb v8 4 seat coupe. With 460hp 3600lbs, a well balanced chassis and GM's impeccable suspension tuning as of late... The Camaro as a performance entry is full of win!!!!! |
Here's a first drive review of the ATS coupe as a "general reference guide" to see how the alpha chassis promotes an excellent handling platform. The camaro should supercede the cadillac in handling. |

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...89381419,d.aWw its an independent leaf spring suspension. More advanced than mustangs live axle. there is a long single brace under the car that may look like a live axle but the leaf springs on the wheels move indepently. IRS came later but they werent live axles after the C2 camaro. |

Fifth Generation (2010-Present) After eight years of flying the Chevy flag at half-mast, Camaro enthusiasts had their prayers answered when Chevrolet brought back its road burner for 2010. Initially available only as a coupe in base LS, midlevel LT and V8-powered SS models, this is without a doubt the best Camaro to date. The retro styling borrows shamelessly from the 1969 Camaro, down to the cowl-induction-style hood, Coke bottle profile, cross-hatch grille and rear-quarter gills. Yet it's not a complete knock-off, as the 2010 has a huskier stance and is noticeably thicker in the rear haunches. The cockpit is mostly modern, with a few old-school touches thrown in such as a quartet of gauges located down low in front of the gearshifter. The latter isn't exactly an ergonomic success, but they pay homage to the optional setup of the late '60s. The available RS package (essentially an appearance package) adds bigger (20-inch) wheels, a rear spoiler, HID headlights and smoked taillights. Unlike before, getting a V6 Camaro doesn't mean "plenty of show but not so much go." The LS and LT come packing 304 hp via a direct-injected, 3.6-liter V6. It also has a six-speed manual transmission (six-speed automatic optional), disc brakes all around, an independent rear suspension (a Camaro first) and 18-inch wheels. At a base price of around $23,000, the entry-level Camaro offers a heavy dose of performance that's light on the wallet. With 0-to-60 and quarter-mile times of 6.0 and 14.2 seconds, respectively, these are seriously rapid cars. The big-dog SS has a 6.2-liter V8 with either 426 hp (with six-speed manual) or 400 hp (with six-speed automatic) as well as meatier Brembo disc brakes. With the ability to leap to 60 mph in 5 seconds and tear down the quarter-mile in 13 seconds flat, the SS will show its taillights to virtually any Camaro that came before, perhaps even the super rare ZL-1 of 1969. And in terms of unraveling a twisty road, the latest Camaro has no peer with its elders, thanks to a finely balanced and tuned chassis, the aforementioned independent rear end and quick, communicative steering. |
