Default 2012 ZL1 or 2014 1LE w/Recaros

K guys here's the deal. Im ready to move on from the Z, will always love her but it's just time for something new. My dilemma is I really want a Z51 C7 but they are damn near impossible to get right now. To hold me off Ive been looking at ZL1s for around 50k. My only problem is I'm worried that when the gen 6 Camaros come out the ZL1s might drastically depreciate. My other thought is to get into a SS 1LE to hold me off for a couple summers and then pick up a lightly used C7. Anyway what do you gents think? Should I play patient and ride the Z out one last summer, or go YOLO with a Camaro for now.

Ride the Z out for one last summer. I'm sure you wait a bit longer and this way you can drive the crap out of her! I loved the way the camaros have looked up until now. The flat bar tail lights and the shorter front facia kill it for me. I would loveeeeeeee the stingray though. Try and wait, maybe you can find one next winter.

^^ The advice I've been typically getting... Thanks for chiming in. Z51 C7 I want has to be exactly how I build it which prices it at about 60k. That's my limit. Anything more and I cannot afford. So that's the problem right now, everyone and their mother wants the Z51, then they raised the price by 3k which was a major **** block for me. I really like the ZL1. Beast with Mag suspension, serious brakes, and love the alcantara interior. Buttt...Gen 6 right around the corner. Oh and whats next for the Nissan Z!? That might be something I really want too. lol. Thanks again

Hold onto the Z until you can swing the C7. Otherwise you're just wasting money.

Plus from what I hear from owners of the new gen camaro's....they handle like sh!t. Good for straightaways but straightaways are boring after a while.

The 1LE handles pretty well, it's just heavy and big. The ZL1 is better, but it's a waste to drop $50k on a car for a year before you drop $60k on another.

Uh, his choices are 1LE or ZL1, not the normal SS.

z51 c7 isnt as hard to get as you think. They come in stock all the time here in Atlanta, and then get sold in a few days, but dealers know well ahead of time what they are getting and when. Can even custom order one for you.

C7....but I sat in one....if you are tall....you will not fit. At 6'4", no way could I fit in it....I really tried too, adjusted the seat all kinds of ways. So go sit on one before you order it.

C7 .. Honestly going from a Nissan to a Camaro you might notice some quality difference. Performance wise the GM product wont dissapoint. I had a G8 GT with the 6.0 V8 LSX variant in it, with long tubes, tune, intake etc, Bad fast! But quality wise ...ya not up to snuff. I think the C7 will be the best bet since its on the high end of GM's engineering. Just my .02 Cents though

Personally, I would be looking past a GM product and over at the GTR or a Porsche. But this isnt about me, and I certainly respect your choices. the C7 is no Joke IMO

Best of luck with your decision OP

Definitely C7. IMO you'll always keep thinking about it if you get the ZL1.
