The track model is the "fully loaded" lol. Youre comparing that to the price of a base Z. Thats apples to oranges.

Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec:
MSRP $28750
348hp/295tq
19 inch alloy wheels
Torsen LSD
Brembo Brakes

370Z base with sport:
MSRP $36150
336hp/260tq
19 inch Rays (Awesome)
LSD
Akebono's
Synchro rev

Thats a little over 7k difference if you compare apples to apples. There is a reason why the wheels arent forged, and the interior isnt quite as nice. As far as the actual performance of the cars, the 370z has almost 40 years of experience behind its engineering. The Genesis is Hyundais first real sports car, they have some bugs to work out.

The 370z really isnt a competitor anyhow, just using it as comparison.

Hyundai is in the process of proving themselves atm imo.

370z not even the Nismo. Best comparison to the Gensis coupe.

The car's performance potential was further confirmed at the track, with the Z posting a more than respectable 4.8-second 0-60 mph time, and completing the quarter-mile in 13.4 seconds at 105.6 mph. That's faster than the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 we recently tested, which posted a 5.2-second 0-60 and a 13.9-second quarter-mile at 102.2 mph. The Nissan required 106 feet to brake from 60-0 mph, and averaged an impressive 0.99 g in lateral acceleration, beating out the heavier, track pack-equipped 2013 Mustang V-6 Premium's 60-0 stopping performance of 110 feet and a skidpad average of 0.95 g. With its figure-eight result of 25.1 seconds at an average 0.74 g, the Z proved it's still an agile handler.

At what point would you consider them proven? What exactly does a car have to show to be proven? There are still Mustang and Vette guys out there that are still waiting for Honda, Toyota, and Nissan to prove themselves.

You can stay on the Hyundai hating bandwagon. It's ok, everyone's doing it. The point of this thread was to say that the car is overlooked and underestimated by the mass, which it is. Sure it doesn't perform as good as the others, but it's thousands less, what do you expect? With a few mods its a really fun car to drive, which is really all that matters.

My point is, it is overlooked because they haven't done ****. Where is their racing heritage? All those companies I mentioned has been in races, wrc's, f1 whatever's. Honda, ford, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Chevy, wether it is drift, f1, rally, they all have something, look it up.

Hyundai came out yesterday. That's why they are overlooked. I'm done here. Won't be replying.

You guys need to all buy the hyundais soon lol

Look I'm not saying Hyundai has to have a racing program, all I'm saying is it takes time. Personally I wouldn't buy one though.

First you have to compare the right two models, as you did.
Then do the pricing math... and for shyts and giggles throw in the 2.0 turbo rspec pricing which is like $26k'ish? then factor 10kdeficit from Z pricing and convert it to turbo mods on a pre-plumbed F.I. motor??? I mean, there's potential in these cars for tuners, in spite of... (just playing devils advocate)
That 2.0 may be a threat to automotive society in the right mechanics hands???
