But at end of the day do I want to sell my lighter 2800 lb and higher HP 500 hp Nismo track car for this new vette? I like my old tech stamped steel unibody Z!

I wouldn't touch first two model years of this car though! Way too many changes that haven't stood test of time with general public. I suspect there will be issues. Clearly GM still has some real functional silos too. The engine platform guy didn't know anything about transmission being hooked up to motor he developed? That sounded bad in the interview.

The C6 was a brand new architecture and I don't recall them having any major issues at all. Same thing with the Z06s, all model years were pretty much issue free from the research I did when thinking about buying them. While it's always safer to wait, I don't think there will be much to worry about.

The real reason to wait would be if you're interested in the next gen Z06

C6 was still based off the C5 chassis. The LS2 / LS3 was based off the LS1 motor. There weren't dramatic changes.

C6 to C7 there are a lot. New transmission (updated version of the old, but still very new)
LT1 motor is an all new design, only a handful of things carried over

The frame went from steel to all aluminum.

The electronics in the car also got a serious upgrade, that is where I think the bugs will be found.

I was sharing thoughts on car with some Porsche guys and heard the funniest poke at styling yet. "Looks like Sasquatch stomped on a Camaro!" Lol!

Plenty of issues. all resolved under warranty but they had issues from weak crank bolts to ecu programming issues, brake pad issues, roof panel issues, etc.
