Looks like they are taking a direct shot at the 370z lineup.... One thing that Hyundai does well is copy other cars ( in terms of design ), the Genesis sedan looks exactly like Mercedes Benz. So lets hope they dont copy the Z when they go back to the drawing boards for the Genesis Coupe.........here is the article below

So are 911's... does that make them not a sports car?

I think the 911 is and has always been the one exception to the rule.

GT-R isn't a true sports car, either, I guess.

I'm more into American V8's, and that is what that formula is for, but should be close to accurate at these hp levels (mid 300's). Last edited by ImportConvert; 03-08-2011 at 01:44 AM. |

[QUOTE=ImportConvert;975096]GT-R isn't a true sports car, either, I guess.
"True sports car." Some people just hear fanboy chatter and repeat it. The Z is a traditional sports car. Gran turismo sports cars, are just as much sports cars as the traditional 2 seaters. There are cases where the GT sports car out-handles out-maneuvers and out performs traditional sports cars. And its not just the porsche 911 either... as you stated with the GT-R. Not many so called sports cars can touch it. Lol Back to topic. All the 370z needs is a TT setup. Let the TT start right under 40k and offer around 420hp/360lb tq. Going to a v8 will change driving characteristics too much and make the car lose some handling capability. To maintain handling, Nissan would have to redesign the whole car. I honestly want more power in this same exact platform. Besides forced induction will keep it light and at under 3300lbs, the fatter cars will have more comp on its hands. I think that the Z might have to slightly lower its msrp back to 2009 numbers on the non aspirated Z if it came out with the FI, Z. The mustang did it on the GT coupes. I think that will help boost sales for the Z as I know it will do for the mustang. The concept of the rare car is kinda kool but, I rather the Z just win the performance war than cancel out. ![]() |

It's like a cheaper G37 (and a fairly good one, IMO). I don't see it as direct competition with the Z because of the whole 2+2 deal.

Lol the japanese are known for copying too such as Lexus. Some may even say the z is copying Porsche so why shouldn't hyundai copy Nissan?

All car companies copy each other. It's market competition. If toyota has a truly stunning innovation, do BMW and Mercedes ignore it or come up with their own version of it? Or do they simply buy licensing from toyota? I'm guessing they don't ignore it if it attracts consumers.
