Nissan 370Z Forum

Was considering a Focus RS...then this nugget....

That's mighty embarrassing (if the suppositions are true). Actually, upon reflection and regardless of the cause that is very embarrassing for Ford. A parts mixup might be the best answer.

The head gasket issue is a big problem for ford. Sales are dropping because of it. They won't do a recall or anything like that. They are waiting until the engine lets go to fix it. Suppose to be a small number of cars effected. Ford never did anything for the Raturds with the bent frames.

This sounds like the Vettes that had the metals pieces left over from machining still in the oil passages that never got washed out. That cost chevy some bucks on replacement engines. That's why they came out with the 500 mile first oil change.

The dry sump first oil change is 500 miles due to seals leaching causing the oil to foam. Not only did they do that, they rev limited the engine to 4500 rpm's until after 500 miles for break in. After 500 miles, the rev's are limited until the car water temp warms up. They have a secondary redline on the tach that displays this.

Chevy didn't waste anytime fixing their process on block machining and cleaning. Got to hand them that.
