Tesla unveils new sports car...

So yet another model they will take deposits on and never build. Add the big rig too. Elon is glad to take those deposits though. I really don’t know why Wall Street lets this sham keep going. No way is he going to make his production promises.

I had a guy behind me once in a Tesla, who tried to follow me on a twisty two lane road when I had my Nismo.....first turn I was not in very hot, to see what he wanted to do....second turn I was in deeper, he tried to keep up and I could see his front end push a bit but he got through, third turn I wicked it up, I looked back and as he apexed his front end pushed as his oversized and overweight golf cart under-steered and he almost hit the guardrail on the other side of the road. So yes, I sort of egged him on and gave him the false impression through two turns at least, that he could keep up. His wife probably cut him off for a few weeks after that.

And the funny thing is, the Tesla (Model S, anyway) is very clever at torque vectoring its way out of trouble in fast corners. I had one blow by me on the track at the entry to a fairly tight bend at far faster speeds than I was comfortable taking my 4C into (and I was on semi-slicks, he was less experienced than I on track and was riding street rubber, but had an instructor onboard). Despite making a dog's breakfast of the entry line, the car (bless it) got him out of trouble. I think the driver wet himself, though, as I was right on his tail by the exit and on the following straight when he should have launched himself out of my slight, I passed him easily!

Bottom line, I guess you can't really beat the laws of physics. Even if you can cheat them occasionally!

It’s crazy how many people with big performance cars don’t understand entry/exit of a turn

Makes my 05 Civic look like a S2000 lol

The weight of the Tesla and it’s narrow tires, even torque vectoring can’t overcome the physics of that combined with the radius of the turn. Once that weight starts that direction the inertia is hard to overcome.
