This may not happen in my life time or ever, but i'd like to see a Japanese car with a v8, the trend seems to be smaller engine + boost

We have a 2015 Jap with a V8. We show up at track with over 700 hp.

But it's the tow vehicle

Plus the track car, about 700 hp total
