I believe Nissan GTR pricing has gone out of control. The GTR is about $13,000 more than it should cost. I don't foresee a next gen GT-R in the states if prices keep climbing? Is there issues with the yen again or what?

They are definitely climbing, not that I have numbers readily available I have a feeling Nissan isn't having too much trouble selling them regardless.

You still get a lot of performance for the money.

GT-R's average about 1,500 units year. Give it take a couple hundred.

They'll sell well if real world pricing remains $100,000 or less. Very rare can Nissan sell a GTE close to MSRP.

Yes you get a lot of performance for the money, but that segment is getting competitive. The corvette can rival the GTR. The hellcat offers a lot of power for the price. The F-type R just looks amazing. And the AMG GT offers an amazing visceral driving experience.
If I were Nissan. I'd keep the titanium exhaust an option and lower the price by at least $9,000.

I'm not sure his acceleration time review on the gtr holds any weight. Track times are dependent on certain factors. The road, tires, climate, the driver himself....
The GTR has evolved well in terms of performance. If Ferrari's got faster? They should. They cost $385,000+
Nissan decimates everything within a $100,000 of it. That's awesome.

2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO: Pricing announced at U.S. debut - Nissan Online Newsroom

$175,000 GT-R Nismo. Wow. I really don't see the value in a car that increased $25,000 over 2 years, with nothing but an upgraded interior and a few suspension and rigidity tweaked. It's still the same 10 year old design!!!

I don't know what Nissan is thinking. But you can order a Porsche 911 GT-3RS and wait several months for it. Then turn around and sell it at $100K premium. Nobody would even consider that for a GTR. Price needs to stay at $150,000

Blame the high price on our monetary policy. US$ had depreciated 20% against the Yen since 2009 due to QE1 to QE4.

I have a very well to do doctor friend who was probably going to pull the trigger on a 2017 GTR and he said this morning itll be a 911 Turbo S in light of this. Itll look great next to his 458 and M6.

Nissan needs to really step into reality. They sabotaged their own success with the Z. 3 years straight there were $1,000 increases. For NO REASON.

The mid cycle refresh addressed a non existent issue..

The Z at minimum should be 350HP on the regular Z n 370HP on the Nismo at this point.

Transmission gearing should have been more aggressive even on Non Nismo automatics.

Materials should have been updated on the interior.

Instead they went back to 09 pricing, effed up everyone's residual value.

Focused on the Nismo only and jacked the price up too high by $3,000.

Nissan wants to cost the same as its competitors by giving the lowest possible updates then putting the price comparable to a Porsche.... smh.

Fuckattaheuh!!

Angry

While waiting at a Freightliner garage to get my motorhome worked on today. (I don't have tools that big) I was reading, I think R&T. It had an article in it that make me take notice. In the article, it stated that the Japanese do not know who their car buyer are. They are clueless. All they see is CUV's.
