Please put your front license plate on

if your front license plate is tilted down like the JDM versions, is it a violation?

Depends on what state. In ohio as long as it can be read the angle doesn't matter. The folding slider I providede the link to actually allows a certain amount of angle control by how deep you place the holding bracket. If the bracket is mounted too far in the rear direction of the front fascia cowling then the plate slider will not have enough clearance to flip up and in front of the facia cowling lip. My guess is that the JDM version you speak of is probably the same way and is mounted too far back behind the front fascia cowling lip if the plate is NOT able to clear the front facia lip.

here are some pics of my old b13 which had the same license plate tilt.
(sorry, i dont have any close up pics. just incase yall wondering, yes thats the same car just with different "clothes" on)
