When they developed the Q50 Eau Rouge prototype, they said they decided to keep the 7AT as its transmission because they wanted to avoid the harshness that can come with a dual clutch gearbox because it was still a luxury car. If they maintain that philosophy and approach, we could finally see a true performance arm of Infiniti, while the Z gets the performance bits it truly deserves.

That's kind of what I was thinking. The high performance Z/Q60 would get the dual clutch to go up against the M/AMG/RS models and the lower high volume versions would stick to the regular AT to keep the more luxury side.
