2014 oil change different?!?

I would have liked to have done one around 1500 miles. However, it was my wife's DD and I didn't have the tools to do it myself at the time.

I would have liked to have done one around 1500 miles. However, it was my wife's DD and I didn't have the tools to do it myself at the time. It was around 3000 before I was able to coordinate the first free oil change at the dealer we purchased it from (opposite side of town from us). Since then I have done it myself approximately every 5000 miles.

How about others w/new Z's? What did you all do?
I'm going to change the oil with Mobil 1 and the filter at 5000 miles. No other fluids.

I did my first oil change at approximately 1100 miles, using Mobil 1 Synthetic, along with a magnetic drain plug and filtermag.. I also changed out the differential fluid as well.. Shockingly, the differential fluid (with Mobil 1 of course) was pretty icky with a substantial amount of metal shavings on the plug itself.

I updated a thread a BITOG with another good PU 5/30 sampling on our 2010. Still under warranty so I follow Schedule 2. Winter based changes have less miles overall as the car sits more when salt is present.

SN based oils are mostly blends of GroupIII to get to the spec, so even running 'dino' for 5-7500 miles results in excellent wear in most vehicles.

Don't over think it: 5K OCI perfectly fine with any SM/SN rated product. Premium synthetics can have better add packs, be more shear stable etc...may make you feel better when you redline it occasionally but when 99+% of the miles on the engine fall below 3500 RPM, the oil is fine.
