Hi All,

I just contacted Nissan here in Australia to order my bungee kit as the lid hitting is starting to annoy me now. I quoted p/no 971F6-1ET0C and they said cost about $230 which is about right here for Australia based on the US price.
Interestingly he said that part has just been superseded and new part no is 971F61ET2A and will cost $530. Has anybody heard of this part number? I asked for more info about it but parts man had no idea as no one as ordered one yet through his dealership, which is not surprising here in Newcastle (2hr north of Sydney).

Could it be a new improved bungee, I'm hoping but

Would be cool if you could take a photo of this new part number.
Let's see what has been improved.

i would wait before you order the bungee kit. Nissan is finally rolling out the permanent fix - August/September. See thread:

Thank you VMAN. Hope this fix finds it way to Oz. They don't even acknowledge the problem down here. Even if I can just order relevant parts from the US and install myself.

Cheers.

Guys,

A Canadian here. Just took the Roadster in today to register the strike of the tonneau cover with the 5th bow, and of course the damn car didn't do it for the service representative. Go figure!

Any hoo, at least its on record with the dealership. I don't know whether Nissan Canada has the same fix coming down the pipeline as it does supposedly in the US ... but I'll keep you posted as to what developes from this end.

Weird how no website seems to have a single pic of this new 5th bow kit. I even checked eBay, which has a seller offering the kit but with no pics, just the corporate logo. Anyway there are a number of Nissan OEM parts dealers offering it for just a bit over $131 US.

Default part # 971F6-1ET2A bungee kit

I sold my 2012 Roadster and never installed my 5th bow bungee kit. I can sell the kit and color instructions if anybody's interested.
