![]() Do you insure anything else with them? The more you insure the bigger the discount. I have been with them since 1994. Is your driving record clean? Come to think about it I only pay about $750 every 6 months for 3 cars. A 2007 Focus my 2000 Ram 1500 and the Z, so it must be less. |

A lot of guys here insuring their car for less than $100 a month? Sounds pretty awesome to me. Especially since my current car, 99 Accord Coupe V6, has the least amount of coverage and it's about $55 a month.

They'll also break down just how much of a discount you are getting... I'm looking at my policy right now... $220 discount for my other USAA accounts and good payment history. $240 discount for the 370Z itself (safety features). $75 discount because I established my own USAA policy after being a USAA member through my parents. You won't get that discount if you joined on your own. If you don't have any other USAA accounts you should think about opening them up. If you open an IRA or ROTH IRA the minimum initial investment is very low (something like $250), and they've got a couple of good credit card options among other things. I do a fair amount of business with them.

Is your Z garaged? Location is a major factor in the premium, too. When I registered my old car in a small college town my premium dropped quite a bit compared to being up here closer to D.C.

I'd bet its because you dropped your insurance while you were overseas. For some reason, gaps in your insurance history ding you pretty bad.
