How to bargain for Special Order Custom 370Z?

800+ under invoice? I would think a car this new is impossible to even get invoice. I have the patience to wait and willingness to walk away, but the car i'm asking for is pretty much top of the line, so the price difference between Invoice and what the dealer wanna make (MSRP price) is even more. I read that in lot of bargaining articles to start with invoice price first to negotiate, so I doubt I can even get invoice price, not to mention below invoice. I am very impressed takimbe, any more insights? I guess you already told me, persistence and willingness to walk away.

Wow, thank you for such great advices everybody! I haven't stepped my foot in the door of any dealerships yet, but I do want to test drive a Synchro-Rev one and to see one in person. It's probably a better idea for me to wait till I have the money to sign any papers.

I don't know if this is true: Since for special order cars the dealer has to order them in (which takes 3-4 months), I obviously have to pay some kind of deposit, but what incentive does the salesman have on giving me a good price....not to mention he has no insurance of me buying the car (simply a deposit - which means I could back out anytime I want) Doesn't that make it harder for buyer to negotiate for a price on the day of ordering the car? As oppose to a car in their lot, they have 100% insurance you're buying the car that day since you're signing to pay for the whole vehicle rather a small deposit. i dunno...just wondering...
